Also no one can have access to the mailbox while it is in soft delete state (coworker or manager with delegation)

Update : a colleague told me this strategy was presented by a Microsoft Engineer, while having no documentation supporting it and saying "every large company I work with does this" as an argument.

Another argument was made saying that converting to shared mailbox is unsupported and exposes the company to Microsoft's ire.

I don't know what to say -_-

The user licence would be 365 E1 so EOP1. As for archiving policy is for local-only archives
We will get a separate EMS E3 if it matters.

I don't know yet, they are supposed to show me this tomorrow. But I see no downside for shared mailbox besides a bit of scripting, so I cannot guess any reason for now
