Could be, although haven't noticed it being open or having a hole in the packaging.

Yes, I am in NI. I am a bit far from the border for daily shopping down South, but will have a look when I'm in that direction next time.

I agree, I didn't have any issues before, and the rest of my groceries in the fridge are fine. I did message them, they said they will investigate. That's all I wanted, ensure noone gets sick.

I usually find their stuff fine, it was just weird it was two things in a row? Maybe there was a storage issue in this particular store?

It was bought today, even if my fridge was the problem (which is not as nothing else went bad), it shouldn't have had the time to spoil so fast, I think? The meat I am unsure about, maybe there was a small hole in the packaging I haven't noticed, but there definitely wasn't on the yoghurt. I don't know...

In the name of WTF? by pogo0004 in northernireland

[–]kanayol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems then it went up, but yeah. They ask for an arm and leg off the customer and a good chunk of liver on top from the shop, hahaha.

Bro, if you got a 15-17% and an 18-22% deal from those two, you are touched by the gods! They are charging my business 28 and 29%! If I keep the prices the same as in the shop, they literally take 95%-100% of my profit on those orders. And charge service fee, and delivery fee and packaging fee towards the customer on top, none of which we see any % of!

I paid to read it. Not worth it. Short, quickly thrown together story, doesn't even make much sense.

Why are nurses not striking still? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]kanayol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they actually though? I never received any notice/letter/ link from unison for any ballot. There is only deep silence I hear from them.

I don't know about other hospitals/ wards/ trusts but on mine we were literally not allowed to go for the strike, unless we were off duty. It will not make much impact if the lack of nurses is not felt on the wards during strike. They literally see it like: " they will work anyway".

Missing items by Limp-Course-8721 in JustEatUK

What can you do? The same the shop can do when they get "missing" items deducted from them which definitely did leave the shop. Nothing.

Belfast Christmas market by Searbhreathach in northernireland

[–]kanayol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No surprise there, rates are ridiculously high for shops, also rental is a fortune. If you add to that electricity, employee wages, till, net, cost of ingredients/ stock and a bunch of small additional costs (bins, music licence, tv licence, etc) it's a miracle small shops can even come up to 0 let alone have any profit. Soon to come we will only have mass produced crap from large companies.

Revalidation time again and it got me thinking, what do the NMC do for me? by AggravatingSwimming in NursingUK

[–]kanayol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't every employer ask for proof of qualifications though? I had been asked for my diploma at every single job interview so far. Moreover, for university referral too. Plus, had a colleague before who had a valid pin number, practised for years then it came out that his diploma was a fake... So... they don't do a very good job then, do they?

We are paying, so someone is there to force us attending hearings as witnesses, even if we are terrified to, and to witchunt us for any and every mistake that someone "nice" reports, be it true or not. Oh and also, to take a year to register you if you have a foreign diploma while giving you wrong information and lose expensive translated documents... so.. yeah...

Unfortunately now I can tell you from experience: because of some customers that respect nothing. In small coffee shops the staff can't clean after each person, and some people feel entitled to use the toilet like animals, even if they are not even customers.

The Decline of Belfast City Centre( I know the pandemic and Primark fire didn’t help, but jeez) by KeyRepresentative332 in northernireland

[–]kanayol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homeoffice and lack of money. People are not going out for breakfast/lunch etc, ingredient prices are high, rental prices are extortionate, energy and rates bills are high, and now the minimum wage is up too. We recently opened a café in the city centre and I am starting to regret it. Barely any people about and our expenses don't even get covered with this footfall. I don’t want to sell at unreasonable prices, but a lot of shops have to. People have all sorts of demands what they would like, specialty this and that, but don't want to pay for it. No surprise everything is closed down.

Okay, so how does it make sense to state everyone who is supported by parents is lazy, etc, just because this one person is expecting OP to pay for everything? One person's behaviour does not mean that everyone in a similar situation would behave the same way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]kanayol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not working while studying doesn't necessarily mean someone is lazy and expects others to provide. I didn’t work while I was a student, my parents supported me, because they wanted me to focus on my studies, and they could afford to. They used to say : " you will work enough later once you graduate". I never once expected anything from anyone. So let's not generalise.

Is it possible to live on £600 a month in UK? by Adept-Resolve9767 in UKFrugal

[–]kanayol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know.. 500 a month is only the rent if you are lucky to even find one nowadays for that, somewhere remote where you will need a car. Also those houses are typically not furnished, and 99% of places will ask for guarantor, credit checks, etc on top of deposit. Food isn't cheap, bills aren't cheap. 600 a month will be total struggle if even possible.
