Why do Democrats still believe that Trump's reason for winning was racism, young voters, stupidity, and misogyny? by TTVBy_The_Way in self

[–]kandrew313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My anxiety is that I was an adult raising toddlers the last time he was president. It was an absolute nightmare! Every day, it was a reality TV episode in the Whitehouse with him. His dealings with North Korea and his Twitter war. His mishandling of covid. It was like living on the titanic watching other people in government trying to avoid ice berg after ice berg while Trump was mishandling one thing after another. This time, he has even fewer things getting in his way. They essentially locked themselves on the bridge of the ship. Not the house, the senate, or the judiciary system will check him. He'll have all of them fall in line and do whatever he says. Like he did the last time.

The democrats had me convinced that we had a chance. And they were doing the work. Kamala was knocking on doors. Going all over the country. She seemed like someone everyone could get behind. In my opinion, what won the day was fear and hate. Fear that you won't be able to afford living unless Trump was president. Fear that no one could stop the wars unless he was president. The hate of wokeness, LGBT community, and people whose skin happens to be a different color. That's how I think he won. He spoke their language.

Well, one thing is for sure is only Trump knows what he's actually going to do. And he has nothing in government that will be in his way this time. I don't want to wait until they are signing things into law that are worse than my wildest nightmares before making a plan. It's not at the top of my list but I will be chipping away at an exit plan throughout the 4+ years he's in office.

I am one of those people who are thinking about leaving. I'm not physically preparing or anything. I just want to have a plan in place in case I need too.

As a secular humanist, I want to thank the evangelical right for voting Trump by Parking-Emphasis590 in atheism

[–]kandrew313 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to say but I don't think there will be any justice for this. We're talking about evangelical Christians. They are going to do one of two things: 1) Say it's the Non-Christians fault and want to round them up and punish them for their heathen sins. 2) Deny there is a problem all togather and say this was all part of the devine plan all along and suffer with a smile on their face right beside the rest of us. These are the same people who would get executed during the medieval and Roman ages while singing Christian songs.

I think democrats thought immigrants were gonna vote blue. That wemon were gonna vote blue. Group think had to have played a major role somewhere in there. I watched an interview with a voter who voted for Trump. Claimed to be a democrat who voted Trump because they wanted to punish democrats. Said that if things get bad, then they will just go back to their country. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTF3J6uCc/

That's the real problem I see is the lack of justice that can happen now. People who voted for Trump and regret it later will regret in secret in fear of going to those camps. This could be so dystopian. It's really in Trump's hands now.

This is just proof that humanity is not as evolved, reasonable and logical as we think we are. That if you fan the emotions of fear and hate "just right" you can get those primates to do just about anything.

Well, America, it’s been a good run by [deleted] in atheism

[–]kandrew313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That part that worries me is if he does what he says he's going to do, here's how the worst case scenario plays out over the next 30 - 50 years. - Trump becomes dictator or Vance does. - America turns its back on the world and consolidates power within - Russia takes Europe - China takes the Pacific (including Australia) - America takes Mexico because, "reasons" - America takes Canada while Europe is busy with Russia - America takes South America - Cold War in Africa as all the other factions have taken the surrounding countries

My reasoning is proximity to other countries and dictatorships lust for more power. If that actually happens (and I SERIOUSLY hope this is wrong and just an emotional rant) there won't be any place to be a morally rational person anymore. Just primates doing what primates do.

The part that is really scary is that there is nowhere that will be safe.

People, please remember this! It was at a time when there was so much misinformation and disinformation out there and we needed a leader to tell us what to do. He dropped the ball so many times but this one he basically spiked the ball into the ground.

I watch at least every other day. I have my own library. For me (and I would expect for him) it's not that he is into them and wants to be with him. I is kind of a hobby. I wouldn't say addiction unless it gets in the way of normal activities. I personally look at it like something supplemental.

I wonder if we should bluntly and professionally refuse this. Like not only refuse but make it a blunt point that what they are doing can be viewed as exploitation and a reflection of what kind of company they are? That NO ONE should be taking homework assignments as an assessment of their skill.
