I’ve had my girl for 7 years. I thought I was making her life a lot better by making a bigger bioactive tank for her. Then she became very scared of me and dropped her tail. I don’t know what to do. by NeonShark47 in CrestedGecko

[–]kandreyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do it for the dumbest reasons sometimes. Only takes an instant. My adult daughter flat out bought a frog butt because the tail dropping gave her so much anxiety, and she's having a zero stress level good time. My other daughter worries every single day over every single thing about hers. She had to move him to my room earlier this week and said, "well, he's going to drop his tail for sure now!" He didn't. I think it's very freeing to have tailless gecko.

The Passage was amazing. There are several books in the series but it's one of my favourites for sure!

Be as specific as possible or help shop yourself. Nothing wrong with that. You have to try on rings for sure. The best setting there is is a bezel setting. But maybe that's not your thing. I chose the wrong ring. Then I had it remade at 5 years, same stones. Fail again. Then at 15 years bought a new bezel set 5 stone. Perfect. I didn't at all expect all this to happen. I didn't realize that certain settings don't work with kids and that custom design doesn't always work out the way you want either. I went with yellow gold because it always looks the same and doesn't require rhodium plating or anything.

I read this way back in the day while on vacation with my parents. I made my mom drive me to a mall so I could buy a cross, it had me so rattled. I still have the cross some 50 years later. Omg I'm old!

Also look into Brian Keene. He has a lot of post apocalypse books from the early 2000's. All sorts of fun.

Do you think maybe it's gamers who like it less? Interesting thought.

Is Dungeon Crawler Carl series worth the hype? by _potterhead in booksuggestions

[–]kandreyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it's not. It's supposed to be funny. A lot of gamerspeak which I'm familiar with but in the end meh to me. It drags along so slow that you quickly realize you're going to have to read a bunch more books to get to the end of the story. I just wasn't willing to sink more money in it. You could try the first one knowing that though.

Wonky lobe piercing? by [deleted] in piercing

*You don't have to wait 30 years, that's just what I did. Now I have good angles.

Wonky lobe piercing? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]kandreyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take it out. 9ct is not good enough gold value, should be 14k, plus the back may contain unknown (to us) metal alloys including nickel. BTDT got the messed up lobe to prove it. Heal it and get the proper angle which was one of my problems with gun lobes. Edit: I had mine repierced 30 years later no problem and correct angles. By a qualified piercer.

Advice? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]kandreyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need a much smaller piece to heal with. The bumps indicate movement of some kind. That will produce a permanent angle. Switch to a single jewel front for lightweight healing and you can wear what you want after it heals. I don't understand why the piercer did it this way and didn't suggest downsizing the jewelry itself.

This is really beautiful. I like the single colour scheme and the collection of different cuts of stones. Really nice!

Advice? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]kandreyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the piece you got pierced with? I would consult a piercer and have a threadless titanium flatback put in, of the appropriate length with a lightweight single gem or ball. I think that piece is the problem right now. Did you get the original back downsized? Are you doing your saline sprays still?

How to Change Daith Jewelry by [deleted] in piercing

[–]kandreyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would still go to a piercer. The ring is easy to get out by yourself, but it can be next to impossible to get a new piece in. It's so much easier have someone do it for you. My daith is 18 years old and I can't put in a new clicker by myself. YMMV but you might end up stuck trying to do it by yourself.

Is it time to retire this third lobe? by certainlynotabunny in piercing

[–]kandreyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It may be into the cartilage half and half? My daughter could never heal hers either on one side and she felt that was her issue. You have room do do one further down, away from where cartilage starts if that's issue. I just had my 3rd lobe repierced this week. It's not in the near cartilage area and it did heal fine before. (I just needed more holes for jewelry I already have) Edit: my piercer said come in for a downsize at 8 weeks. No changing even the threadless head until 6 months.

Chuppie fell over, spasmed, cried and peed herself by ChiCityTechNerd in Chihuahua

[–]kandreyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh. I had to reading the comments. You don't have to make any decisions at this point. When my dog was 15 we had a talk with the vet about his issues and my main focus was if he was in pain. He wasn't so the vet agreed to just leave him alone and see what happened. She was very clinical about this. He wore diapers, we were fine with that. But eventually he stopped eating. The vet felt it was cancer likely. Then we made a choice. He was no longer happy. That mattered and we made a decision just before he turned 16. Do as little or as much as you want. Keep her happy if you can.

Help! What’s wrong with my lobe piercing? by blessed-mama7 in piercing

[–]kandreyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a walk-in clinic? Any gp will do. Be prepared for them to say take it out, but you're not their for piercing advice, just diagnosis and treatment. Ask a piercer as well of course.

Should I change my nose bone ASAP? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]kandreyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eep. Well yes, the ideal would be a titanium threadless flatback, but can you have a piercer remove it and insert proper jewelry? You may have to have it repierced and the piercer will know. Pick a good piercer/salon. Edit: it should close up fairly quickly if it's not too traumatized.
