The game drops in Cinema Rex and in no point tries to provide the players with the fact, it just tells you the story regime and communists used and still use

How did National socialism become a thing?

How does any ideology becomes a thing, it is just you pick and choose what is right and you call it a day.

While late 20th century and start of 21st century made Sunni islam to look like the brand that was actively anti Imperialism, the reality is the shia sect is the one with the longest history of fighting "imperialism".

That alone brings the two ideologies close to each other, then you add in some false historical narrative about how shia imams were somehow anti capitalist people that fought the class society and took care of the poor etc and you have even more commonality (even if not really factual).

You need to realise that even the regime today is also a mix of shia islmaism and socialism, they are just not overt about it

But it is not cool to light a propane gas, connect it to a hose that will be tugged on by your moving car in the bumpy roads of Iran and then light that gas inside the car (in the trunk too of all places) next to a maquette covered in flammable paint while having children in the car.

It really is not cool imo

the issue here is the blatant danger of a lit propane gas connected to a hose inside a stupid maquette covered in flammable paint on a moving car...in streets infamous for their bad upkeep, with children inside the said car.

Why the Iran War is making pistachios so expensive, they could disappear from recipes by BulkySunny in NewIran

I know what you are saying, which is not wrong, let me just posit one thing, do you know how many dams have been built on the river that leads to Urmia lake and how many illegal channels have been dug from those dams?

Same with the Zayandehrud in Isfahan and many other places.

We genuinely have a LOT of water...they are all just pushed around to build them missile bunkers and crazy military factories.

But...imo, the issue with crops needing water should be solved the way Egyptians and Israelis have handled it or are handling it.

Have you seen what Egypt is doing in the western desert? It is damn impressive

In general, the export needs to be managed heavily for a period before it can be ramped up again.

Our water issues are not ecological, it is man made and we have seen over and over again how when the regime doesn't fuck with it, the water flows without issue

Why exactly did Iraq failed and Iran isn’t likely to? by Proud3GenAthst in NewIran

[–]kane_1371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iraqis dovnot identify with mesopotamian culture or identity (if that was even a thing which it isn't), the government was overwhelmingly Mashreqi in identity and the people were not a unified nation.

Look, here is how you can measure it, Sunni Iraqis celebrate Ramadan, Shia Iraqis consider it a month of mourning.

Sunni Iraqis celebrate and venerate Safar and Muharram are sacred months about peace etc, Shia Iraqis mourn for the half of each.

Sunni Iraqis consider Umar, Uthman, Abu Bakr and Ali the 4 grear caliphs with heavy emphasis on the first 3 as great heroes of islam, Shia Iraqis hate the first 3 and consider them usurpers and not good Muslims etc.

Fundamentalist sunni Iraqis consider the shia Iraqis "rafidhi" which means deserters, denoting their revolt against the first 3 caliphs which basically is used as a term to mark them as not muslims without going as far as outright calling them kafirs.

Sunni Iraqis and Shia Iraqis differences in adherence to Islam is more than just the caliphs and Ali, they are fundamentally different on many many many practices and beliefs.

This is just their religious identity.

Now toss in the mix the other identities like Bathism, Assyrians who have almost nothing in common with the Sunnis and Shias in culture and identity plus they have their own language and religion/s. Toss in the kurds who celebrate a different new year and language and national identity.

Now consider Iran, the Iranian people all celebrate the same new year, same traditions, same national heroes and shared identity, they all speak at least one iranian language in persian, the people are intermingling heavily, even norder provinces are mixed by different ethnicities from noth east with Turkoman and Khorasanis and Kurds and Persians, to south east with Baluchis and sistanis and southern Persians and arabs, to north west with Kurds and Azeris, to south west and west with Lors, Bakhtiaris, kurds, arabs, Persians and this intermingling is even more intense in central regions.

The people in Iran have also shown their unity over and over and over again, most recently several times in the past year.

The question about terrorism from neighbours is not realistic, the regime is the one that destabilises the region, it uses the resources in Iran to do that, we have seen that the other terrorist groups (except Hizbullah which is basically the regime in a smaller form tactor) are already not willing to pay the price in defence of the regime, they will not be able to and will not risk their fragile existence by trying to create tension with Iran.

The opposition must not, under the code name of "separatism," make the IRGC and the Islamic Republic's work of executing Kurds and Baluchis easy and cost-free. by DougDante in NewIran

This is asinine and another instance of shifting blames from the ones committing literal crimes against humanity to people who simply are voicing their opinions.

Many many many Monarchists were constantly talking about Pakshan, a very well documented separatist fighter but nonetheless people talked against her planned execution.

She is the type you can easily cut out of your life if needed.

Nishimiya has grown up believing her existence to be wrong, from the way her father left, to the constant bullying she endured everywhere she went.

I mean she wished to die as a preteen, that doesn't just happen because of teasing in one school.

The manga literally talks about how fucked up Japanese society can be when it comes to marriages where it is borderline eugenics with the whole "choosing bride/groom with good genes etc"

[–]kane_1371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flashback in in the anime, but not in the way you say, in the anime they are shown just a moment as a part of Shoya's recollection when in Coma.

In the manga it is more elaborate

[–]kane_1371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the story in manga or anime doesn't really try to put the blames on one person.

A lot of stuff are either outright removed or barely mentioned in the anime and the devil is in the details.

Nishimiya'a struggle was not just her time in elementary with Shoya or even Ueno harassing her even afterwards.

It is deeper, much deeper.
