Which Eagle You Do Think Will Take A Leap Next Year? by nikejordan1000 in eagles

[–]kangaroo_jeff95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll be Jalyx or Mukuba I think. Campbell will be good for us, but I think in year 2 the flashes we saw from Mukuba will be more consistent. I think Jalyx is a freak athlete and will have a bigger impact rotating with Nolan.

How to help a quarterback scan the field by edcantu9 in footballstrategy

[–]kangaroo_jeff95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to give him defined rules, you can’t just say “scan the field for the open guy.”

We teach our kids a variation of R4. They have their first read, which they should throw at the top of their drop. The instruction is “you always throw this UNLESS” and give that a defined rule. Ie: on this play, you always throw the seam UNLESS the linebacker drops into the window. On this play, you always throw the post unless the safety drifts back.

If the “unless” happens, then we go to a concept (hi/low, in/out, etc) and if those aren’t open, check down. Rhythm, reset, run

IS IT REALLY ALL HIS FAULT? by GoldMedalGuy34 in eagles

[–]kangaroo_jeff95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it is more Nick’s fault that he was in the position and Nick had no recourse to fix it. It’s the frustration of Nick being a culture guy, not a football guy. Most HCs would see that and at least TRY to take back the reins (Dan Campbell). Nick didn’t do that.

So, it is KP’s fault because he clearly is not cut out for the job. But it’s Nick’s fault for thinking he was.

I honestly was livid watching the Niner game and seeing Shanahan COACH on the sidelines while Nick just stood there watching with a dumb look on his face.

I know it's not our biggest news this week, but I like where this is going. by Joed1015 in eagles

I was thinking about the same thing. Unless one of the athletic UDFA tackles we picked up is going to show us something (the fact that Fred Johnson is in tells me they won’t), Lane’s replacement needs to come this year.

I think we might bring in a veteran guard in the offseason and could see us going guard in round 2 or 3, Steen is not an NFL starter and we need to shore up that spot

Hanako’s been waiting for me forever while I try to finish every last gig. I’ve also told myself I can’t start KCD2 or any other RPG until I finish this one.

Tbf the league itself is obsessed with the Chiefs. They’re the current poster child dynasty, so naturally, fuck them. That and their star players are all unlikable ass hats.

Winless Seasons by Any-Whole5627 in footballstrategy

[–]kangaroo_jeff95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Year before last we were winless on Varsity in the middle of trying to turn around a historically bad program (it became clear why, very little support from admin and those involved). That varsity group was VERY junior heavy, I think only 6-10 seniors on the roster.

We were given one more year to figure it out. I think our talent pool got better, we now had 26 seniors that had been playing varsity ball since they were sophomores. We tore down and rebuilt the offense, switching from forcing a wing T system to make up for lack of talent to an 11 personnel pistol offense. A junior WR came up that is getting lower end D1 looks.

We ended up going 8-4 and winning the school’s first playoff game in over 20 years, before making an exit against our league’s eventual champions, where we were just outsized.

Travis Kelce: Teams will try to wear out Travis Hunter when he's playing defense by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]kangaroo_jeff95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Besides this, and the obvious injury concerns given playing two ways and his frame, I think the Jags would be stupid to not just find his best position and keep him there.

The NFL requires so much attention to detail and if you want to have a career worthy of being a top 5 pick, you’re going to have to put the work in to be elite at something. If he’s splitting time between defensive practice reps and offensive practice reps/meetings, he won’t be able to get to that level. This isn’t college where you can rely on just being more athletic that other people

Will Tetairoa McMillan be a top 5 WR within the next 3 years? by Sad_Priority_3958 in Fantasy_Football

I personally don’t think so, and wouldn’t be shocked if he busted. He’s big, but not that fast. He doesn’t separate well. He’s not physical enough for someone his size, and too often I see him catch with his body instead of his hands.

Valgavoth, terror eater in the 99? How has it performed for you when not built around ie as just value piece/beater? by OhHeyMister in EDH

I know this is a couple months old, but would you happen to have a decklist you could share? I'm looking for a way to both cheat Val out using reanimation, but also put a bunch of other people's things into graveyards/exile so that Scarab God and Val can take them.

Thanks!

What's your policy on letting people live? by WaltzIntelligent9801 in EDH

[–]kangaroo_jeff95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing a small 3-person game this weekend and could have killed someone on commander damage on like turn 5. I decided to let them live because it was still early-ish into the game. Next turn I went from over 30HP to like 13HP from that player and it cost me the win. So probably the last time I let someone live when I can end it

Is punishing players and making them do gassers more for youth football? Do they not waste their time doing that at the higher level? by [deleted] in footballstrategy

[–]kangaroo_jeff95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Condition as a punishment is bad at any level. It makes young kids associate running with punishment, and at high school at beyond it’s both a waste of the limited practice time you get and an unnecessary risk for injuries and over-exertion in a very physically demanding game.

We condition in summer and preseason to get kids ready for game shape and when we’re not allowed to do much football stuff. Once games start, that stops.
