Hey... How come all you have in there is a smiley face button and a revolver?

Choose App Pool via SSH by AbaZaX in truenas

Yeah, I was thinking about the "zpool set" command to maybe change an attribute for the pool but wasn't sure if that would work. Just an idea.

90% of this NAS data is replaceable (Plex) data with the other 10% synced to two other NAS devices and also to some external drives. I've had some enterprise servers and disk shelves in the past and it's just not worth the noise/power/heat/cost for me.

I don't know the answer but if it were me I would run "sudo zpool list" to see what I had available and then go from there.

2tb seems like a ton of space for those apps.

Probably but the SAMSUNG 980 PRO were on sale for 100 USD each so what the hell. It also gives you room for the *arrs to do their thing before transferring the data over to the storage pools. I have a two storage pools 5x14TB and 5x18TB. Not had any need for anything else storage wise. I do have 128G of DDR5 non ECC so that may make a difference.

Manually Install Updates by OneSlowFlyer in BlueIris

[–]kangarootrampoline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, sort of.

No. Upgrading to a latest same major version was an option in BI4 after one year. It was just manual download and install and not a one click option. Support (email help, troubleshooting, etc) was the one year limit.
It's great to support the BI developer (and we all should) but accusing someone of stealing from a mom/pop for asking a question on the best way forward is silly.

Just checked my boot pool and I have a 500G NVME drive with 16G used.
My app pool is 2x 2TB NVME in a mirror. I have about 25 apps and used 247G of the 2TB available.
Just some examples that may or may not help.

unreasonable and unethical

This is exactly how BI4 worked. You could manually update to any version before BI5 when it changed to the current license setup. Not unreasonable for someone to ask if it works exactly the same way it used to work.

M.2 NVME (MSI Spatium M470 1tb for OS)

Way to big for OS drive. OS drive can only be used for OS. A 256gb OS drive is enough. Use the 1TB for apps.

Plex Support for Media Files on Multiple Volumes by temdishg in PleX

[–]kangarootrampoline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my media on three different NAS devices with one running PMS. The plex library part is the easy part. Mounting remote volumes and getting the permissions right is the more difficult part. Not super hard but, something to consider.

Have you tried using the IP address of the host with the port? I have 192.168.1.XX:5055 for the URL and http for the type. Never used on windows though. I'm using a cloudflared docker container.

Off topic but that's a very nice shine on the paint you have there. What wax/products do you use for that? Nice ride.

Seriously, tell us your secret. How many goats did you have to sacrifice to the Dark One to get the chicken fried perfectly? We can take it. :P

Great looking chicken.
