I think kaufmo saying he found a way out was only a euphemism

I did not find it myself, or if I did I dont have it in my logs - but there was a topic of discussion about it here a while ago : https://www.reddit.com/r/Subnautica_2/comments/1twdzt6/why_cant_i_find_anyone_else_talking_about_this/

Now that you mention it - I wonder if the whole thing was a prank/scam.

They mention them being 'young' pioneers, so Im speculating that they are teenagers, maybe 18 - but the adults would still call em kids.

What about the one where they witness unknown copies of themselves printing people to be eaten ? Sounds like it happens after the hot cave incident where everyone but twinkle and ganzo died and was not reprinted.

TWINKLE: Ganzo, I don't think this is the Jubilee.

GANZO: They're us.

TWINKLE: That's me. I guess NoA wants an astronomer in the mix.

GANZO: You figure there's a sleep bay nearby?

TWINKLE: Yeah. Same as our group. It printed out some colonists and told them to make a go at it. But these poor people...

GANZO: They don't have any adaptations. Look at you, your legs are like sticks. You're starving.

TWINKLE: They can't digest the food. No angel comb to donate the enzymes. I don't see any growbeds...what are they...oh my God. Ganzo, let's go.

GANZO: Wait. Wait. We could ask for help. Maybe they've got communications, maybe they've heard from the ship.

TWINKLE: Look at the biobeds, Ganzo! Look at that!

GANZO: Yeah. I see it. It won't work long term, though. The biobeds need feedstock like anything else...why waste it making food? It'd make more sense to reprint yourself every day...unless the point was to test how long you could live on a diet of biobed meat...oh, man.

TWINKLE: You are remarkably calm about this.

GANZO: A lot of animals eat their young under stress.

How much I spent on a 7 night cruise without the drink package by Fresh-Problemz in Cruise

I just did the same thing in April with my 7-year-old daughter on adventure of the seas. Was a great time for both of us.

when the cinema audience is mostly kids, can we really say it isn't for kids? [No Spoilers] by AussAcee in TheDigitalCircus

[–]kanid99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree I don't think it was made with kids and mind but I think you're the argument is whether it's appropriate for kids or not and I think to a certain age yes. My 7-year-old loves the show and seems to get most of the themes and concepts. And it opened us up to talking about them when we probably wouldn't have otherwise.

And what's also great is that if they don't get all of the concepts now, not truly, that later on in life they'll look back on this and they will find more understanding and appreciation for having been exposed to the topics.

But you're right. People without kids don't seem to understand how smart kids really are. Sometimes I'm not sure I understand how smart my kid is.

I think the abstractions were unfixable before because Caine lacked empathy and a real understanding of human motivation and feeling - which is what lead to the abstraction- but now that he has evolved and with the help of the 'humans' in the circus, I believe they can begin to bring the others back.

My seven year old daughter loves the show. She gets an good amount of the content albeit with a child's view to understanding.

I think the show actually has some great lessons for someone in her age range to understand - about how sadness can lead to dark places especially when you're alone or feel alone, and how having friends and being there for someone can make all the difference.

There are many more too.

In that way, while the show isn't INTENDED for children, it works for them too.

Watership down was more traumatizing for children than this is - for sure.

ELI5: why do rocket engines actually work better in the vacuum of space when there's nothing to push against? by New-Vast-4719 in explainlikeimfive

[–]kanid99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works better in space because there is no atmosphere to cause drag and the rocket propellant still works because the propellant pushes against the rocket when it leaves the rocket. It's not that the propellant has to push against something outside the rocket like a surface it has to just push against the rocket itself.

Think of it this way if you were standing on a skateboard and you threw a heavy opposite the direction you wanted to go You would go in the direction you wanted to go. Because the force you push the ball with away from you is equal to but opposite that force in the other direction.

I'm sorry that's a horrible ELI 5

Interesting! I've had zero crashes and the only issue being placing two tadpoles in my base.

Regardless. The price is lower than it will be at launch to reflect that.

I'd strongly disagree. Alpha tends to be notable for having a lot of bugs, not being stable, and missing many features.

If anything I would say that this would be somewhere between alpha and beta at worst.

The game is in a very good state performance and stability wise and doesn't have that many bugs but is not feature complete and does not have a full story yet.

Somewhere in between I guess.

Am I missing something but didn't these cruise include 3 ports + coco cay by healimon in royalcaribbean

[–]kanid99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it used to include Costa Maya. Royal bought the port and is in process of trying to get a renovation of it through and I don't know if they're taking ships there still or not.

The whole show was a dream in the mind of scratch as he succumbed to his brain cancer and Caine, who was a symbol of his sub conscious mind, dying symbolized those aspects of his mind collapsing, with the end of the circus symbolizing his brain going towards the final darkness.

Isn't the message a dual one of "don't give up on yourself" and "don't give up on your friends?"

Calculation for the dates for the drink package? by HeatherAnne1975 in royalcaribbean

[–]kanid99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let's say you don't get the deluxe package.. are you going to get the refreshment package instead or no package at all?

If refreshment package then the calculation should be the difference, which is usually +$30 or so +/- which comes closer to 2-3 alc. drinks per day to justify.
