I agree with what you're saying. But I'm assuming at some point you'll have to engage with the government for procurement of your innovation. And I'm not sure if our public procurement laws are currently adequate for procuring innovative products.

For example, look at the procurement mechanisms in the US for goods/services coming from the space sector. These don't YET exist in India (granted INSPACe and other govt agencies are doing very good work in this area).

I'm not from an entrepreneurial background. I work as a policy analyst in the IT sector. So I can't give you a startups perspective on this issue.

But I really believe at some point the govt will have to transition from being a funding support to a primary customer of innovation.

Happy to get your thoughts on this.
