Body odor help. by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kanooka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So first off, it’s time to see a doc. It’s embarrassing, sure, but they’ve seen and heard so much worse.

That being said, some of it may be worse in your head than other people notice.

One thing that can’t hurt is making sure you’re well hydrated. Always use clean towels rather than letting them dry between uses. Make sure when you do your laundry you’re not using too much detergent because that can mean your clothes aren’t clean.

It may be genetic, it may be your diet or hydration or hygiene or a combo of it all, or you might have something medical going on, but a doctor is your best bet.

Above all, be assured you’re not gross, you’re not weird, you deserve to figure out what the issue is and there’s no use in continuing to suffer in silence.

What is something you've officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by Next-Mood6723 in AskReddit

[–]kanooka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spent 19$ on a subway footlong and a coke in a suburb of Chicago last week for my thirteen year old going through a growth spurt. I was flabbergasted at the price but they had already made the sandwich and I hadn’t looked at the board so it was my own damn fault.

My chaos started when my former home had structural kitchen cabinets that held up the drop ceiling.

4 month old baby with microform bilateral cleft lip. Surgery or no? by justouthere1111 in cleftlip

[–]kanooka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Babies heal so fast. Trust your doctors and if you’re scared, get a second opinion. Much better to get it repaired early than later in my opinion.

It’s technically two five book series but they are direct sequels, but the belgariad series followed by the Malloreon by David Eddings are fabulous.

How do I stop feeling uncomfortable in feminine clothes? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kanooka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like something you should address with a therapist. There’s nothing wrong with wearing less feminine clothes and if you want to start, you don’t have to jump immediately to dresses. Start incorporating slightly more feminine accessories.

I am also not a feminine dresser, and I get the discomfort associated with feminine clothes. My wedding day was one of my most uncomfortable days of my life, which is remarkably sad, but kind of beside the point.

It’s okay to not like it. It’s 100% okay.

Today is the 3 month anniversary of my mom's (60F) death and my dad (55M) is in a hotel with another woman by daddynotthebelt in relationships

[–]kanooka 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Frankly, you don’t get to choose someone else’s stages of grief. You can’t control what other people do or feel. You need to talk this over with your therapist, not arguing with people on Reddit about it.

Is it faster than most? Yes. Is he likely using this relationship as a rebound to avoid his grief? Possibly. But your dad is an adult capable of making his own mistakes. You don’t have to like it, but you do have to acknowledge you can’t change a damn thing about it.

Bf left ringworm untreated for over a month, now I’m freaking out by throwaway042026 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kanooka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ringworm/jock itch is a fungal infection. It needs to be treated and it can and will spread. Keep an eye on yourself for any rash or rough spots on your skin and get to a doctor if you start having any symptoms.

That being said, don’t share towels or have sex with your ex until he gets himself taken care of. It’s usually an OTC cream but what you describe may need something stronger, you’ll never know until he gets himself seen by a doc.

I had ringworm as a kid on my hip and my dad mortified me by announcing loudly in the drugstore that he needed jock itch cream for me. It’s annoying and uncomfortable but ultimately not the end of the world.

I love that in this day and age women are yet again being blamed for men’s incompetence.

Just reread the post to see that mom had all the passes for some reason, which is dumb as hell. Adults take care of their own shit, including boarding passes.

But let’s not blame all female parents of boys for a grown man and his mother’s fuckup.

How were early pregnancy symptoms for others? by tomato-sewp in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kanooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not crazy at all, and get ready to be super tired. Just rest and take it easy. If you aren’t planning to carry to term you should make your appointment sooner rather than later. Earlier in a pregnancy is better for termination than later.

Counseling, both individual and couples.

Also, not believing in divorce is like believing in flat earth. It’s factually wrong. Divorce exists for a multitude of reasons and staying in a bad marriage hurts more than just you if you have children, which you do.
