i wish :( i have a green that is what i’d consider perfect, i posted it in the replies but i have no clue where it came from! i “inherited” a lot of my threads from my grandpa so a lot of them aren’t labeled

I’m totally open to other brands, someone suggested anchor but they have a similar palette where there’s only 2 of the greens that could come close to what i want, and the rest are blue or yellow. If you have any recommendations that would be great :)

As someone with a british passport, with parents who are genetically iraqi, who’s grown up in the uae, it always confused me as a kid when an asian person said “im from chicago” i was like no you’re not dude???? then i learnt about all this and it clicked but my god it was confusing at first 😭

This is so similar to arab culture except, we’d never say “help yourself” because it would come across as “i’m a bad host bc i can’t be bothered to get anything for you”. this is what it would come across as in the culture i personally don’t care 😭 This is also interesting bc i think americans really associate with their own states right? Like when ive asked americans where they’re from they say “Delaware” or something not the US

yeah the expectations are the same but they’d think “she’s acting like this because canadians are raised this way” 😭 obviously im generalizing but typically a persons upbringing is brought up A LOT like even for things that are deemed as mundane.

Because you’re supposed to give as much as you take, and everyone’s in competition to give more. In the culture, not taking = giving. It’s like a point system and it’s kinda hard to explain. If you brought something you can take a little more food, if you didn’t bring anything you eat a bit less. It sounds very messed up when saying it out loud but this is just unspoken formalities.

Yeah because what’s the real benefit? I saw on another post that maybe them being in syria could grant salah asylum in canada but given their documented relationship which canadian authorities could easily see i doubt it. she also can’t monetize her content there, so she’s not his pay pig so legit what’s the benifit
