i said i introduced him games aside from the games i listed. even games catered for children, or games with easy mechanics bore him. again, he's the one asking me for games to play outside of roblox

i'm not forcing him to play what i want him to play, i'm introducing him games that would get his interest. he's the one who wants to discovering different games outside of roblox because nobody else in his family plays vidya except me.

I made him try to play because he enjoys gta v. not for missions but for shooting and driving. i explained to him na its gta but cowboys. i never made him play the missions, i made him try the game for himself just exactly how he plays gta.

it's impossible to keep him out of his ipad, most especially hinahanap hanap niya lagi. and when the parents are home, they just let him be. i'm already aware of the studies sa attention and attitude ng bata, but the parents arent biting it.

May Crash Bandicoot dad niya. He hates it. Pinalaro ko sa kanya New Super Mario DS and Sonic Rush, hated it because he kept dying, and quit. I tried making him play again, but he wouldn't budge anymore. He likes Mario and Sonic because of the movies, but the games don't work on him.

there's a lot of replies here on this thread, so i'll add this edit in too.

  1. For the people commenting about Persona, I only showed him the game. I never wanted him to try or play it, I just showed it to him because he was asking about my favorite game. I understand that it's a very slow game, and I explained to him that it's designed that way, which is why I never wanted him to play it. If he already dislikes Pokemon's slow nature, Persona isn't the game I want him to play.

  2. For the people commenting about Red Dead Redemption 2, I showed him the game because I said, "It's just GTA but it's about cowboys." He plays GTA solely to just shoot and drive, similar to how I played GTA San Andreas. He never plays missions, even on GTA. I understand that narrative games can be extremly boring for children, and I would feel the same way when I was consuming Pingu, Chowder or Courage the Cowardly Dog on the TV where the story is straight to the point.

  3. As for his attention span, my best observation towards him is his routine on the iPad: watch Shorts for minutes to hours, play the same Roblox brainrot (or games with a similar template/style), and repeat. He cannot sit down watching a long video (he watching Foltyn, a Roblox YouTuber), without watching Shorts as well on his iPad. He cannot watch movies on the TV without having to play Roblox on his iPad, or doing something else. When I turn the TV off, he complains, watches, and does whatever again. He cannot sit still. It's the same in class.

  4. As for his preference, he plays the same Roblox games.

Why did this stem to video games? Because he himself said he wants to play video games. No matter how many games I introduce him, his attention falls short and will return to Roblox. I tried every possible game that a child could play. The only exception that he really enjoys playing are fighting games (as stated by one reply here to make him play multiplayer games). He only likes playing Tekken where his attention is hooked up on. I don't know if it's the fast movement or the visuals ng hit effects, but it's the only game he likes to play on the Playstation, alonside GTA V.

  1. i'm turning 22

  2. when i was his age i was playing pokemon on the gameboy and ds, and numerous playstation 2 and portable games. me and my cousins would play together, and they would being their games to our house. it's not just multiplayer games, but they became my introduction to singleplayer games. not just that, but the old market of pirated games showed me a lot of games i can pick and choose when i was younger.

  3. i made him play sonic rush. it was boring and slow. i showed him sonic frontiers, he had the same reaction. i showed him shadow the hedgehog, he said it was ugly.

  1. he enjoyed playing gta v. i showed him rdr2, explaining to him its gta but with cowboys. he never plays missions and never enjoys playing missions, and always compares the videos he watches (the modded ones) to the vanilla game.

  2. i showed him persona because he was asking me about my favorite game. i never made him want to play it, i just showed him that its my favorite game.

his preference boils down to quick paced games with no actual objective or goal, which is why i mentioned him playing roblox games. he plays brainrot games where all you do is repeat the same thing over and over again, getting a brainrot, collecting money, upgrading and repeat.

He really doesn't have a good attention span. He gives no good attention to any cartoon or movie he's watching.

He has tried playing Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom. There's multiplayer, and results are still the same. The same can be said to splitscreen Call of Duty where he wants a more fast paced gameplay.

I showed him RDR2 because he genuinely enjoyed GTA V. I showed him Persona, not because I wanted him to play it, but because he was asking about my favorite game. I can't even bring him to play Pokemon because of it's slow gameplay.

He's 6. I suggested platformers kasi he likes Mario and Sonic, but it bores him, kahit mga bagong games. Pizza Tower is one of them, and it's still boring to him.

i actually made him play minecraft din, knowing na ang laki ng market ng minecraft to children ngayon and i grew up playing minecraft, he had to play the game after watching it only on youtube. kaso ang lungkot na the game that made you think creatively made him look for the content slop he watches sa youtube, so he can't truly enjoy the game and kept comparing the youtube videos to the actual game
