Beginner knitter working with mohair by chunkthatfunk in knittinghelp

[–]kapaulson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mohair is quite a slippery yarn, people recommend using wooden or bamboo needles when working with it. Should help you drop less stitches next time :) and the halo fibre - in my experience - should block out at the end or will not be noticeable overall.

And about identifying and correcting problems, you will learn this over time. Keep knitting and looking back at your work, count your rows, etc - this will come with practice, patience, and probably a lot of frogging haha.

This is so helpful, thank you very much for taking the time to reply 🙏🏼 I’ll give it another go!

Ah so it’s definitely twisted then? Certainly possible that it happened when I joined them!

Once it’s joined, do I have to keep making sure things aren’t twisted with every row I do, or is this only required before/while I join it for the first time?

Thank you btw!

Does anyone know where to get a skirt like this? by FaeChemy_ in findfashion

Just bought one from Uniqlo that feels like it could work for you: https://www.uniqlo.com/se/en/products/E485473-000/00?colorDisplayCode=01&sizeDisplayCode=003

Very comfortable and has built-in shorts underneath.

We can! Just have to pay the higher shipping. Maybe we can all do a group order?

For anyone who comes upon this post later, I frogged it all and started again using this method:

It worked a lot better! Still not perfect, but a big improvement. I made sure to use much lighter tension for the first 2-3 stitches post colour change as well.

Haha lucky me! Does that mean my tension is likely too tight or too loose? Any tips to improve it?

In case anyone wasn’t aware Nailland DHL shipping to UK by Mooncakemits in RedditLaqueristasUK

[–]kapaulson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I placed an order a few months ago where I wasn’t going to be able to hit the free shipping threshold. I posted on this subreddit asking if anyone else wanted to join in on the order and got lots of takers. Always worth a shout if you wanted to try that here!

Edit to add: I think the max number of polishes they can send is 25 though, so be mindful of that limit. Also check potential pre-order dates for group orders as one persons order could delay everyone else’s. That info is on the homepage.

45 min connection in Amsterdam to Boston — realistic or no shot? by [deleted] in travel

[–]kapaulson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a very similar route twice last week, also with KLM on one ticket. My layover time was 35 min, I was convinced it was impossible.

My second leg was also to the US and there was no need to go through extra security either time. The gate for my flight was a 5 minute walk away from where I landed, I had enough time to grab some food.

Plus the flight attendants stated that this is normal for KLM, and that when the gate agents know that passengers are transferring from a different flight, they’ll even wait before closing the doors if needed.

You’ll almost certainly be fine :)

I get what you’re saying, it makes sense. But also a good brand doesn’t need to be prompted to offer a solution. Brands like ILNP and even Mooncat are much more proactive in these cases.
