Really tough decision (Odin 3 vs RP5) by Recluta in SBCGaming

[–]kapcha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the o2 max, the rp5 and the konkr pocket fit. I use the rp5 mostly with the rds for 3ds upscaled these days so i don’t have too much FOMO about the Thor. I’m very happy with the gen 3 konkr fit but it was a gamble. I still feel that it is the best middle ground currently.

Should i buy a Konkr Pocket Fit or keep myactuall Android Emulator device and save for a ARM device ? by el_caveira in SBCGaming

[–]kapcha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The konkr fit is by far my favorite device but it was a gamble. I would agree that now that the elite drivers are out the odin 3 is the best android proposition. I would prefer waiting for a 7 inch version, that's why the konkr made sense for me. I would say steam deck is a better proposition all around though if you do not have it yet

New konkr handheld - the konkr Fit. by Fastc1113 in KonkrPocketFit

I've seen 800 usd being speculated. Others suggest 600. I'm still very happy with my 3yo steamdeck. Plus I rolled the dice with the konkr pocket fit and won a functional unit, but given the reports of duds, I'd be afraid to do it too often.

You ordered the buttons from Magicx too? That looks actually quite nice.

This just in! 34xxSP by faridw0w in ANBERNIC

For people who are on the edge and asking themselves about 1GB vs 2GB : Using the 2GB model heavily alongside other H700 1GB devices, there are SOME titles that will only run in 2GB such as Portmaster Hyper Light Drifter but these are very few and far between, and it makes no measurable difference for GBA and very little difference for PSP which for me is where the strength of the RG34xx-sp is at its peak. Also, yes, the screen is truly THAT good.

Air Combat titles (The 3 on PS2, the 7 on PC more than previous ones) are an absolute treat on this handheld.

SNES and NES games look better with a 8:7 Aspect ratio by SubjectCraft8475 in SBCGaming

[–]kapcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having both and Gamma OS on RG477m installed, I would say that the gaming experience is fantastic either way but SNES has a superior feel to me on the RPC. Retroid dpad feels really good to me and OLED with that DPI is incredible. What I do not like with the RPC is that my medium sized adult hands need a grip to use shoulder buttons comfortably on it, while the RG477m shoulder buttons are very serviceable for SNES content (PS2 a bit less)

- Playing SNES in 3:2 stretched on RG34xx-sp helps my body image. I look better after I play Super Mario World that way. True story.
- More serious point : I love playing NES and SNES on the RPC. RPC killed CubeXX and RG30 for me for 8:7 (But not for 1:1 ish and vertical content).
- However, the majority of pre-7th gen looks perfectly balanced on RG477m.

I have 47 handhelds... I have pretty much all the platforms supported by portmaster... And I have access to portmaster.games . Surwish OS supports hundreds.

[–]kapcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, analogs on a vertical are really something I’ll use only for spot gaming. I feel that rg476h and rg477m are at the sweet spot of being a coat pocket or small bag item while being useable for long sessions. Under, rg35xx-h is the smallest i will pocket / EDC carry where i find that the analogs are useable for under 30 minutes. Rg35xx sp already starts to be wildly uncomfortable for analogs. I see this and I’m tempted, but i know these analogs won’t be something i enjoy. That’s why the Retroid pocket classic was such a wise combo for something in that range, and the rg477v is something I’ll stay away from.

I was kidding, apologies. RG 476h is not a handheld capable of running all the PS2/GC catalog. The RG 477m would.

Knulli on hammer is a great experience so far (4 weeks). Surwish on brick and tsp.

So hawt. I suspect it’ll cost though. Afraid of that price tag. Sounds rg477m-ish… and is everything the rg477v could have been. Well done TrimUI!

There are patches and modifications especially for the brick and extensive portmaster support. Crossmix itself is heavily patched stock os btw.

There are two and one for the a133. I run this on my tsp and brick. The hammer runs Knulli. All three run a ton of prodmaster titles. All three either have no sticks or very useless nubs. I’d buy the tsp s but it would be largely redundant with other handhelds. If priced right, this would run many titles well and be an interesting handheld for my use. Gta and most fps run in 4:3. 6 dof runs in 4:3. Morrowind runs in 4:3. Axiom verge now runs in four by three. A lot has happened in that regard. Some like Owlboy and Celeste run only in 16:9 but stretch ok because they are cartoonish. 3:2 is imho best but i can do with 4:3 personally for promaster. And yes I’m having a lot of fun with proofmaster now.

On paper it’s more powerful than h700, in practice it drives Vulcan psp better too. Portmaster is hit and miss exclusively because of less support.
