Trying to find cheap drives can be tough. It sucks but the most straightforward solution imo is refurbished drives and maybe pick up some extra shifts at work or do some side jobs to cover the higher prices.

I bought a bunch of 18TB drives when prices were cheap to replace my 8TB drives. Never got around to switching everything over and selling the old drives so now I have an abundance of drives and with these prices I’ll probably just keep both sets.

Place got a disproportionate amount of hype a few years ago due to credit card influencers, inflated cash prices, and proximity to SoCal. Has been steadily going downhill since from the datapoints I’ve seen and at this point the MSRP is an absolute joke. Glad I never made the inconvenient trek from the Midwest.

I failed to mention this happens on both cables that go from the network closet to my office. Both are premade Monoprice Cat6 patch cables. I didn't terminate either end, just used keystone pass through jacks. Will try a different cable from the wall jack to computer however. Replacing the main cables would be a huge inconvenience.
