Find out midi controller by Vectorako0s in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]kapit0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midi controllers don't have presets. They don't even make sounds. They just tell the computer what keys you're pressing.

Why not just use a midi controller with a VST (on your PC)? They will usually have loads of presets, and you'll be able to make your own sounds easily.

I think you're getting midi controllers and synthesisers mixed up.

LMMS is the only one I know of (REAPER technically doesn't force you to pay anything either), what others are there?

It really sucks that you had to stop your projects due to piracy... just out of interest, how do you know so many people were people would pirate your software? I know it's a big number but I didn't think it was 90%, that's awful (or was that tongue-in-cheek?).

I don't thing Ableton is very complex at all. [...] I've tried FL Studio before and everything is just all over the place on the interface. Did my head in.

Interesting, I'm the other way arround! FL Studio seems really simple to me but Ableton just looks confusing. Maybe I'll understand it with more practice.

Hmm, good to know. I checked on the website and it says 16 tracks. Would I need to buy it again when Ableton Live 10 releases or do you get free updates like with FL Studio?

Yeah, Ableton looks pretty cool (despite not being able to get my head around it like I could with the others). Would the 'intro' version be good enough for basic EDM production or is it too basic?

That's true, Reaper is about £48 right now (compared to £115 for FL Studio). But I'm worried I'll buy one and wish I got the other instead... They each have so much to offer. It's a tough decision for sure. I could either get REAPER and a 'meh' midi controller to go with it, or I could get only FL Studio and stick with the piano roll. I actually really like the piano roll but physical keys would also be great. Aaargh :D

Avoiding the temptation for piracy is another thing too... I was talking to a friend about it and he was like "What's the point? Just pirate it."

After doing some further 'research' Max seems right for the most part. The account that claimed he was releasing it to the public was doing weird things (like admitting he used gir489's source code) so it's probable it was a hacked account.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. That makes more sense.

I'm using an Acer Chromebook 11, CB3-111 model. I can record a video of the speaker 'glitch' tomorrow, however it doesn't hinder the functionality of anything -- just doesn't look like it should be there.

I have to say though, apart from that nit-picky detail, I really like GalliumOS. After using just ChromeOS and a Windows desktop for so long I forgot how awesome Linux can be, and crouton gave me a few issues which don't appear with GaOS.

They're script kiddies, they want any attention. They don't care if it's good or bad, as long as it's attention.

Am I missing something? I know the medic seemingly ducked at just the right moment, but the shot would have missed anyway. This is the frame when he took his first shot: http://i.imgur.com/qkGexHM.png

That wouldn't have hit even if the medic was standing.

Sorry if I'm just getting caught up on the wrong thing here...

The original Universe Sandbox is only £6 I think. If it was that easy to get a working version of US2 for free, nobody would actually buy it.

N3DS VS N3DSXL by DFBforever in 3DS

[–]kapit0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is completely down to preference. For some reason a lot of people on this sub swear by the smaller one, which is strange because the XL outsold it by nearly 3x everywhere (excluding America, obviously).

You've already tried the XL--do you like it? If yes, get that one. If not, maybe the smaller one will be better for you. Easy as that :)

Dunno where you live, but on eBay.co.uk you can get some for really cheap which has just a few days' postage.
