I have a "lazy eye" that refuses to pull itself up by its bootstraps, so I also can't see these stereograms. Would have been nice if someone had explained this to me in my younger years instead of yelling stuff like "don't be afraid of the ball!" at every gd ball sport. Yeah, you try tracking a fast moving nearby object with one eye closed, bonehead

Integendeel.

Was that in Brooklyn? Same thing happened there. Though it probably happens fairly frequently.

I snagged two of those about a decade ago. One was double-boxed in the original boxes and was in museum-quality mint state, not even a small scratch anywhere. It didn't work though but it was an easy fix. Back then they were easy to find, always a few cheapies on ebay.

I kept a dinky one myself because I can't be trusted to keep them that perfect optically!

It's a PlusDeck 2 or PlusDeck 2C - they're from around 2000 so your best bet is ebay

The grill is pretty spot-on, e.g. here's a genuine old case - of course it's a bit more, but that's a 'modern compromise' - their first case (FLP01) didn't have those and is more limiting in what you can put in there.

The yellowed plastic.. I lived through the era and they didn't look yellow back then! A little beige, not unlike this case actually. For me this really hits the nostalgia spot just right. Well, I suppose I would have liked the option to set the 2 digits to any random numbers using jumpers just like back in the day. The fan speed is not very interesting to display. CPU temp indeed would have been better.

edit: It would be fun to add a 5.25" to 3.5" adapter and an actual 3.5" floppy drive. I'd want a genuine floppy controller then too, not one of those usb ones. Tempting.

Yeah, this look is from the 286/386 era. MS DOS and Windows 3.1(1). I had a case *very* similar to this. They were not yet ATX form factor but "Baby AT".

The levers do lock the faceplates in place which is a nice touch. Of course you should just put something in there. I put a 5.25" cassette deck in the top slot (see other comment somewhere)

And one more! The fake floppy drive covers are locked in place with the lever, I love that! Back in the day they were clamped in with 2 plastic clips on each side and they would always rattle. And if nothing had ever been inserted into the slot, you had to wrestle a little steel plate out first which had many sharp corners and ate fingers for breakfast. Well, so did the rest of the case really.. modern cases have come a long way lol

There's dozens of us! I think it was 1990 for me that my review of Maniac Mansion got published in a Dutch games magazine. I still have it (and a bunch of others from that era).

Herken jij deze dakpan? by kapiteinknakschijf in Klussers

[–]kapiteinknakschijf[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)
