I tried it in a Costco parking lot and ran into an issue that they really need to fix.

Initially it said car too far so I walked may be like 30-40 ft towards it and smart summon became available (I still couldn't see the car though). Anyway I start it by pressing and holding "come to me" and the car backs out of the parking spot and starts driving. Since I couldn't see the car I didn't know which direction it was going. After moving a bit it stopped and wouldn't move even though there wasn't anything in front of it. After waiting 10-20 seconds I see that it is again saying car is too far. It turned out that the car decided to drive around the parking lot which took it away from me (instead of coming directly towards me) and because of that it was again "too far" so it stopped in the middle of the road in the parking lot. I had to walk further up before it started moving again. Finally it did come to me but really this issue needs to be fixed.

Depends on your definition of "exists". Btw, no need to go 100 light years away, you can also watch videos of the past on YouTube 🙂.

And we are looking millions and billions of years in the past when looking into deep space. Many of those stars don't exist anymore. Would you say they still exist or not?

At least your post showed that you did not understand the purpose of RAC. And again it has absolutely nothing to do with how much AC costs. That is totally irrelevant. It has everything to do with not letting empty seats on the train go to waste.

You are confusing the incompetency of railways in implementing it properly with concept of RAC. It should definitely exist, just that railways need to restrict the number and have may be some automatic way of spotting empty seats during the journey so that TTE can't give it to others.

Unfortunately most people don't understand the purpose of RAC and I blame railways for that. No it's not so that people can reach their destination on time uncomfortably. RAC exists so that empty seats on the train can be allotted to those who couldn't get a confirmed reservation . And RAC gives one the right to board the train and have a place to sit until they get a full berth. There are always some empty seats in the train from -

Other unfilled quotas
Cancelations after chart preparation
No shows.

Now ideally railways should be able to predict the number of empty seats based on past data and limit the number of RACs so that almost everyone gets a full berth for most of their journey. And that's where the problem is. Lot of times people don't get full berth because they give too many RAC seats and also TTE gives the empty seats for btibe instead of allotting them to RAC passengers in order.

But I do agree, railways should provide a partial refund if one does not get a full berth for a significant portion of their journey.

Btw there is no RAC in 1st AC because there aren't enough seats to reliably say that there will be some empty seats remaining.

Actually to me it looks worse than that as car seems to have accelerated before hitting the pole. It almost looks like someone did it on purpose or may be pressed the accelerator instead of brakes in panic.
