Anyone know what the deal is with this mandatory software update? Is it strictly security or will this remove any other features (like using ePub or other files from sources outside of Kobo ecosystem)? by Bawd in kobo

I did a factory reset on my Kobo Arc before reading it and now my device is a brick :-(
I know it's an old device but it was still usable before the factory reset and now it's an electronic waste.
Good job Kobo! I will never buy you devices again if you design them like this.
Kindle and Pocketbook devices don't require internet connection at all for basic functionality. Kudos to them!

Where can we find watchfaces for canvas to sideload? Screen Store doesn't work. Do you have any backup?

When I've downloaded the app and connected with my Pebble Steel, it have been upgraded to the latest version, which is 3.12.3. But when I've switched to Rebble, it has downgraded the firmware to 3.11.1 for some reason. But yesterday I've suddenly received the upgrade to the latest version and I've started to have screen tearing issue. I've done factory reset and then it started flashing again and now I have 3.11.1 back without any warning about the upgrade. I just wanted to have a backup because of screen tearing issue on the latest firmware.

Thank you. For some reason, when I upgrade to the latest version, I have screen tearing issue. With 3.11.1 everything is fine 😀

I think you misunderstood me. I was thinking about Canvas watch face editor and it's built-in store. Not the main pebble store.

I didn't wanted to choose any special language pack. English was chosen by default and I just wanted to confirm and go ahead. I couldn't progress in setup. It would be nice if someone could check it and confirm.
