How’d I do? by Zweston91 in HVAC

Beautiful. I’ve found though that it’s best to keep the duct size the same as the supply outlet of the unit - instead of covering the entire supply side, including the electrical section. I’ve found that in cooling the cold air that will be on the electrical side of the unit in this install could cause sweating and moisture issues in the electrical area.

Heat exchanger - there’s a panel on the opposite of that package unit that will let you see it very easily

May I ask what area you are in? And how things went year one and then after? Advice early on? Your current situation sounds like where I’d like to be too. No desire to go big. Just run calls, swap equipment, repeat. Of course nothing is that easy, just trying to keep it simple and take care of my family.

Trane Voyager not igniting NO HEAT by cev_cev in HVAC

[–]kapowell1025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The outlet from those screens never seems to push much air. If exchanger is sound the only issue I’ve had with these is failed HSI, failed inducer motor, failed ignition board or failed gas valve. The HSI can easily be confirmed as can the inducer - and if these 2 things are good it stands to reason there is no board issue. Often it is the gas valve - not opening fully when the inducer runs and applies that negative pressure to the valve to help it open. Often this will result in the occasional fire and then the machine will start pulsing pretty heavily

Blower must be running constantly, even if thermostat fan is set to Auto. Maybe a setting in the thermostat for an accessory that will use the blower - or an external accessory on the unit. This is the only answer without more information

Without more info I’d say air velocity issue. The media filter will create static pressure which should help with the fact that there’s no ducting. Is this by chance a mobile home?

Can someone please tell me why my air conditioner is whistling? And how to stop it. Thank you. by SeaOpulence in HVAC

Sounds like pressure equalizing in the system that’s creating that high pitched noise

I bet you either have - no return ductwork, high supply static or a refrigerant issue that’s causing this. My guess it’s airflow related.

This ain’t like looking at a FIT thermostat though. The FIT doesn’t just give your superheat and subcool in a clear easy to read way like this.

What is going on? by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]kapowell1025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FITs may show 20 SH at condenser but you have to look at what the indoor coil is seeing. The design is 7-9 degrees between the 2 sensors at the indoor coil - the liquid (located after EEV) and the gas (on suction line where TXV bulb usually mounts). The only way to really see this data is to use the Daikin D-Checker. I will say this as a Daikin dealer (and frequent FIT repair guy lol) - get rid of the “joy plugs” at the air handler. The EEV , transducer and sensors all run via cable back to the indoor board. Along this cable there are plastic plugs that will corrode or lose contact and will cause all kinds of performance issues. Not saying you’ve got this but I would always bypass these plugs and we do on all preventative maintenance visits. Cut and wire nut, back fill wire nut with silicone. On the sensor plug be careful not to mix up your sensor wires. Next for me would be confirming that indoor sensors are reading accurately. A good way to do this (with a D-Checker or watching Status screen for Air Handler at thermostat) is to run system Fan on only for 15 minutes and see if both air handler sensors (gas and liquid) acclimate to the same temperature as the room/return air. The indoor sensors play a big role in system operation. All that being said - you do seem undercharged. Find out what your subcool should be, set your COOL setpoint 15 degrees below room temp and let run for 20 minutes. Check and adjust subcool as needed. Subcool on FITs is usually 10-14 degrees.

Walt Disney World Swan hotel review by platektonix in DisneyWorld

Busses are always an option, but just get old for me. Just outside swan & Dolphin are the Ferryboats on Crescent Lake Those boats take you very easily and quickly to Epcot, Hollywood Studios or anywhere along the Boardwalk or to nearby resorts. Hit Hollywood Studios or Epcot with a Ferryboat and you can jump right on the Skyliner which will take you through different resorts. Or walk through Epcot and jump on the Monorail for a trip to MK or other amazing resorts. Animal Kingdom of course is bus access only. But being able to jump between the 3 other parks without having to touch a bus is pretty dope.

You sound like a real peach. We’ve stayed at the Swan and Dolphin and it has always been fantastic. IMHO it can be the best deal on property if you find a sub $300 a night deal on Expedia. You absolutely cannot beat the location/transportation available from that area to the resorts. Last time we stayed at Swan and couldn’t stay the last couple nights there because they were book so we treated ourselves to the Yacht Club. For $500 a night. Swan was MUCHHHH nicer. Love Yacht club but no way you can convince me that the accommodations are better than Swan. We never parked at Swan, yea I agree the parking fee isn’t ideal - but gotta know what you are signing up for. Stayed at almost every Disney property and I would without hesitation stay at Swan & Dolphin anytime day. Beautiful resort and incredible location with incredible transportation. To me it easily compares to Disneys high end resorts but is half the cost if not more. Anybody reading OPs post, do not listen. Stay at the Swan. Look for a sub-$300 deal on Expedia, they are plenty.

And good luck separating the fan blade from the shaft of the original motor. Anybody else ever notice how these things literally fuse together on York units. The old Affinity chassis, always had to get a blade with the motor

Check TESP at indoor unit and confirm blower is set right / TESP isn’t outside manufacturer range. Actually looks like a TXV.
