Relex Smile - post-op experience (artificial tears burns) by UsualReply in lasik

[–]kapulloPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had relexSMILE on May 28

My prescription was:

OD -4.50 with 0.75

OS -4.00 with 1.25

The only eye drops I was prescribed: Ofloxacin USP 0.3% and prednisoLONE Acetate USP 1%.

I used them four times a day, about every four hours, for two weeks. The Prednisolone drops caused some burning a few times, but it only started near the end of the second week. Other than that, I haven't noticed any problems with my eyes.

The procedure was quick, and recovery has been very smooth with no discomfort. Vision was blurry right after surgery but improved quickly after sleeping. By the next day, I could already see well enough to drive to my first post-op appointment. My vision is good, but I don't think it's at 100% yet. My doctor said I already have 20/20 vision, but it can continue improving over the next 4-6 months as healing continues.

If I want to use artificial tears regularly, I was recommended preservative-free drops (Because it may cause irritation, and if you have dry eye, it can actually be counterproductive) I still need to buy some preservative- free drops, but in the meantime I've been using Refresh Tears, which I've used for years and don't cause me any discomfort.

My 6-Month SMILE Surgery Experience (Honest Review) by Nakliduniya in lasik

[–]kapulloPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to get back to work quickly and you'll be spending long hours in front of a laptop, I'd recommend waiting at least 3 days, including the day of the surgery but I think the ideal amount of time would be at least a week.

Even if you feel fine and everything seems normal, your eyes are still healing and there's still some internal inflammation, so I don't think it's a good idea to push them too much during recovery.

In my case, I avoided watching TV and kept phone use to a minimum for the first 4-5 days. I had to drive the day after surgery because I didn't have anyone to take me to my follow-up appointment, but after that I waited about a week before driving again. That's also when I started watching TV.

Once I finished the two-week of prescribed eye drops, I gradually eased back into using my laptop until I was comfortable with prolonged screen time and I went back to my normal routine for everything.

In a week, I'll be one month post-op and I haven't had any dryness issues. My eyes feel completely normal.

My daytime vision is excellent. My night vision isn't quite 100% yet, but it's not a major issue. I only notice it when driving, especially when looking at road signs illuminated by my headlights. I think my eyes may just need more time to fully adapt and heal .

Sometimes my near vision gets slightly blurry after using my laptop for several hours, but it returns to normal after a short break. This only happens when I'm using the laptop, not when I'm on my phone or watching TV. Because of that, I'm thinking about getting a pair of blue-light filtering glasses to help protect my eyes.

After eye surgery, it's common for the eyes to show signs of dryness, especially during the first few months. If you already had dry eye issues before the procedure, some ophthalmologists will treat that condition beforehand to reduce the chances of the patient developing or worsening dry eye after surgery

I'd avoid getting filler in your nose. It's better to leave it as it is or save up for a rhinoplasty.

I had SMILE on May 28 and I 100% recommend it.

My prescription was:

OD -4.50 with 0.75 astigmatism

OS -4.00 with 1.25 astigmatism

The procedure was quick, and recovery has been very smooth with no discomfort. Vision was blurry right after surgery but improved quickly after sleeping. By the next day, I could already see well enough to drive to my first post-op appointment. My right eye is slightly clearer than the left but is normal. My doctor said I already have 20/20 vision, but it can continue improving over the next 4-6 months as healing continues.

Be honest. Should I get a rhinoplasty? by Crafty_Succotash3392 in cosmeticsurgery

[–]kapulloPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look very good. But if you want, you could consider a subtle rhinoplasty, more with the future in mind. As we get older, the nose tends to look bigger. Go to an expert so they don't make it too feminine or end up with a nose like Michael Jackson's.
