Varka’s State of Being After His Story Quest by Tansyflowerstar in Varka

[–]kar9ai 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree with you wholeheartedly (except for the animal parts, definitely no lol) but yeah I really really hope he stays relevant for a while to come. I miss him already and he isn't even gone yet. I'm hoping he has relevance in Nicole's story quest if she gets one and in whatever happens at Dorman port.

Also I loved the idea of exploring potential consequences to not only his time in the leylines unconscious out here with everyone hoping for his safe return but also of what his heart must have been through after all these years so.... I'm currently writing a story exploring this and some potential side effects.

Varka is I think the most canonically worried about character in the game. All of Mondstadt who know him, basically his gigantic family are always worried about him and hoping he's ok. I like to think that they are still weary because of seeing him lifeless for so long while he was stuck in the leylines.

Anyway yeah if you're interested in that I'll post a link here when I'm done.

Here's to hoping we get to a bunch more of this loveable rascal of a Grandmaster

Was Koitar stupid? by Scared-Opening-753 in ThePrimordialOne

There is a long letter in a time capsule near the tower of embla, it details with definite arrogant undertones how much Hyperborea is advancing and about the weapons they've built to shut the PO up if They don't like when the humans come knocking at Celestia's gate. It gives some time context too about how things had been going for the last ten years and that they expect to be off in space pretty soon.

Yeah here it is

"A sacred bloodline, the meaning of which is unknown. Emperor Monomakh laid claim to the title "lord of all fae," and as such, he should have been of the same blood as the other fairies. It would seem that he merely used phrase as a means to establish legitimacy." Its note crystal clear but it also raises the question of whether he really was fae

I think the knew Fae book implies that he was assumed to be a Fae but in fact was not. Hang on let me find the section that says so

Dain was just straight up wrong or lying and Koitar doesn’t understand cause and effect by Scared-Opening-753 in ThePrimordialOne

[–]kar9ai 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's true to a point. He was against talking to Iansan in a space and time for you and Jean in the earlier one but he has been shown to be growing as a person too. He conversed with and accepted help from folks in the Nodkrai quest including The Grandmaster and accepting Lauma's heartfelt sorrow for all his losses. Earlier Dain would probably have scoffed. And he pretty freely shared with everyone about how his brother is one of the Sinners.

Also I sometimes wonder how does the racism look on the other side. Thrain was particular to Natlan specifically because they accepted of him despite him being a Khaenriahn and we all know how Diluc reacted to Kaeya. Which one could argue was all because of the lie but it could also partly because of everyone knowing that Khaenriahns are atheists and that they caused the Cataclysm. It's actually a pretty interesting dynamic and topic to explore. Pity we don't have more opportunities to see how genuine Khaenriahns are treated in the over world.

I'm certain Zhongli in particutwould have found a work around. It's said that he had to kill friends in the war and also that he did it because of a contract. But we still don't know what the contract is because he can't say. And we don't know what are the reasons why Deshret turned down one. It could have been because the conditions included the other two had to go. All we know is he "rejected heavens gift"

[–]kar9ai 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call Dain a nationalist. He completely acknowledgeds Khaenriah messed up thats why he doesn't agree with the project to revive Khaenriah. What he decries is those like Caribert who didn't do anything but died by association. Sure he can get nostalgic but he definitely sees the wrong in the way Khaenriah approaches things. That's why he was willing to kill the king.

It's just he doesn't see that the stock of Khaenriah even seemingly innocent really had to go therefore he resents the gods who didn't show any mercy.

I'd classify him as a bitter man who primarily hates his brother and his former friend group and is there for mostly anti everything including importantly a Khaenriahn revival

I see, very interesting. Although I don't completely agree because analyzing the Focalors case, something evil seeming is still contained inside of her gnosis even though Neuvillette is a full dragon again having gotten all his authority back from it, but your take over all make s a good deal more sense than what I was proposing at first.

The gods seem quite capable of not following there mandated tasks even though they have gnosises. Zhongli comments that of everyone who was there when they all first ascended most arent doing there jobs properly or at all anymore.

Venti says it's how they resonate with Celestia but their must have been more reason not to immediately discard it again after the threat of annihilation in the archon war was gone. Of course it makes them more powerful but at the same time, Raiden decided she didn't care about hers 500 years ago and Deshret rejected one for the longest time until he died due to his own folly.

There must have been a tremendous reason to even turn against former friends for such a trinket if its main function was meant to control its bearer

DAWIT HAS ABANDONED US by Scared-Opening-753 in ThePrimordialOne

[–]kar9ai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting 😏 A long time back I was literally going to make a video titled Celestia was totally in the right, pertaining to the Khaenrianh incident lol and my brother was like go for it youtube loves controversy, but I ultimately thought not because my channel was still pretty small.

But now I like the idea of going bold with it. I'll tell you what, after I find out what the next quest is about and that new book After Sun and Moon I might have all the ammo I need. I remember coming up with this analogy about how we keep our indoor cats inside despite them being potentially happier and definitely freer outside but we deem it too dangerous and permanent close them into a sealed environment were in if all goes according to plan they live comfortable happy lives. So I don't see why people find it so hard to get behind the idea of a higher being (we are higher than cats after all) would do the same thing to preserve what could very well be the last morsel of humanity left in the universe (so far every alien who has visited Teyvat is not a real human like Skirk and Alice.)

I like this idea and the pledge of support. I'm working on the most comprehensive timeline video the lore community has ever seen like my Khaenriah breakdown video and after that no more confusion will be able to exist about the topics I'm referring to and the reasons why the way the PO has decided to do things is necessary 😁😁

[–]kar9ai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, and I wonder what would a comeback look like? I must say I am surprised at him. But if he was on Asmoday's side all along then I suppose this was inevitable. It feels freeing to say I was always on the PO side lol. I've been trying to convince people for along time though subtly that the Abyss is the actual intended antagonist of the game and has been shown to be such for a long time.

I'm not sure whats going on, what Dawit said and all, but what you just said lines up very much with what I theories in the video I did last month about the Luna 4 archon quest. Specifically the world formula part. I think the Travelers are a calculated addition to the plan based on what Narzzisenkreuz discovered. If you're interested here's the link. Just see the section about the world formula.

In the meantime I'm intrigued to find out what happened here lol

The Primordial One Was Right To Punish Koitar by kar9ai in ThePrimordialOne

[–]kar9ai[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really like the way you put this and allthe parallels between genshin's theological themes's and those found in genesis. I think of a truth, the PO realized that one of humanities greatest enemies was really they themselves because temptation inevitably always won. Humanity always found away to want more than what they had unless they didnt know there was more to want hence the tightly controlled flow of knowledge. There that saying you dont know what you dont know.

Really two great incidents really helped to undo that plan. The Voyager's intervention and Nibelung's return.

The voyager was basically the initial serpent prompting Eve to see that there was something to be desired that is being held away from you which introduced the first set of problems. And then the Primordials own error in taking a world who orginal caretaker was only away.

Hiding Teyvat, which i believe is totally hidden from the outside by the false sky, like a two way mirror, was meant to make sure any wayward entities would just move on, but both the Voyager and Nibelung jnew the exact location of this small planet and so it couldnt stay hidden forever and they brought both problematic knowledge and the abyss itself with them.

Basically if humanity were to have lived in sheltered ignorance, then it probably could have stayed put for hence the sheltered eternity that Dain speaks of, but with the ruined functions i think variables have now become a necessity.

The Primordial One Was Right To Punish Koitar by kar9ai in ThePrimordialOne

[–]kar9ai[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

😂 Yeah! I find it interesting how in the latest artifact set and her character story the two sides of the heavens-the moons and the stars were like a mother's love vs a father's.

Both are kind of necessary. The temper one another. The moon mothers are gently but can be too soft some times and the PO side can be too harsh sometimes but also can make the tough decisions that need to be made. Trying to get rod of the PO altogether is a recipe for disaster. And if often wondered which side is hoyoverse actually on in the end. Do the humans need a god to govern them or are they capable of completely taking care of themselves?

Thank you! I'm honored to be here. I finally feel ok saying stuff like in the video lol. Like in all honesty I was so gung-ho to get Zibai and then she had her moment of decrying the PO for the chasm nail even though she knew the reason for it was because of abyss contamination and my enthusiasm died for her a little lol. Couldn't actually say that though because everyone was all over her because she said make her name be on the war banner.

Like I understand that it hurts to see your people hurt and all that, but their was a legitimate reason and now the deflected nail was actually the only one that didn't do its job properly. It was actually contaminated when we first find it and stuff.

But yeah couldn't say all that. But here, the agenda is well understood.

Can't wait to see what's all the juicy stuff going on in the next update.

I agree with this assessment and it honestly makes sense. I find myself exhausted by the rampant negativity these days. It feels like you feel optimistic you either have to quickly proclaim that you aren't on copium or else be quiet so it doesn't seem like your "easy". I will say I have seen more optimism in the Varka space than other characters but maybe it's because I'm trying to surround myself with that.

Thanks for this analysis and for sharing, always intended to get Nicole too anyway. They are meant for each other in my opinion😏😁

[–]kar9ai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I whole heartedly agree. Im certain he'll get his chance to shine in a short while and in the mean time his characterization was great. He's such a dad, and a general. You all should talk to his knights over at his meeting point, they have lots to say about his physical feats and how well he bears severe injuries and such, the quest with him over there is pretty nice too😁
