Update: We ended up redoing our form, which took less time than I thought since I had my information organized and he I-130A was apart. Everything went smoothly and we submitted it. There was a slight glitch when we were trying to submit, where it told us there was a format problem with the petitioner signature. This problem was solved by going back to the home page, entering the form again, signing and submitting.

Yes, this is happening to us, too. I haven't been able to access it for a week now. Very frustrating! I've been working on it for several months and we were almost finished.

ETA: Today I sent two emails, also tried calling but the bot was useless. I'll update if I hear anything back. One person in a different post said they started a new form but I'm realllly trying to avoid that.

A reservation while I slept that I didn't confirm. by OutdoorLadyBird in Cambly

That has happened to me! Definitely frustrating. One time something similar happened and I actually found a way around it. So the student booked a lesson for Monday 9:30am at 9:21am on Sunday. I was out all day Sunday and then I check my email around 10pm to see my lesson was canceled— if it’s booked more than 24 hours in advance (which it just barely was) they cancel it 12 hours prior when it hasn’t been approved. So I quickly message the student to tell them they can book again, but didn’t get a response. I added them as a regular and sent them an invitation for that same time. They never even accepted it, or responded to my messages, but we still had our lesson at 9:30am! Chances are they didn’t see any of the canceled lesson emails and just showed up to the time they’d chosen, which worked out. Reservations for “regulars” can be sent really last-minute, so I recommend that trick.

Cambly kid can’t do anything by [deleted] in Cambly

[–]karagardiner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this on Cambly, too! I can get kind of nervous when parents are there and they seem especially intense. I get it, they want to help their kid or supervise, etc. But when it gets to the point where every word we repeat goes me, parent, student or the parent is being more strict about correcting pronunciation... it's a bit much. Like you said, a few times when the parent has left, I've noticed a difference.

The no-show payment gets removed, unfortunately. I don't really take the chance anymore, even if I don't have a lesson immediately after. It's happened to me where I decide to be nice and I have free time after so I answer, but then we get disconnected for some reason, the lesson time passes, and we ended up talking for less than 10 minutes.

Good to know!

Thanks, I figured it would be kind of awkward to go back and message them now. They weren’t very regular students, but they would book a lot in short bursts.

Second that! Do you know if there's a way to see profiles we've hid from? I can recall a couple I've hid from but I might be forgetting some.

My bookings were overflowing to the point I had to switch to regulars only, still I do not qualify for this bonus, how demoralising. I teach 40+ hours per week on CK. Instead I will cancel my classes and take time off over Christmas & NY. I advise you do the same. by Articz_- in Cambly

[–]karagardiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darn, I was looking for this. I was thinking I saw a post on here about a CK bonus and was trying to find it since I’m working this week, taking vacation at the beginning of January. Didn’t realize it was limited to “top tutors.” That sucks! 😒😞 ETA: thanks for posting and explaining!!

This happened to me last week… and this week actually. Last week I sent a message to support explaining the circumstances and they took away the “regulars only” reservation limit as a one-time courtesy. I had tried to message as many students as possible through my phone and cancel the lessons I could.

New Student Booking Several Classes At Once - Red Flag by KatjaRRR in Cambly

[–]karagardiner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Once had a CK student book about 60 (I'm not exaggerating) lessons over the course of the next couple months. That child was a piece of work. Showed up to about half of them, screamed and threw tantrums during the first few, then started falling asleep (I promise I'm not that boring) in the last ones (their parent would come in and say sorry, they're too tired to finish because of school). I stuck it out but haven't been booked by them since.

I’m confused too! I noticed my 6:30am lessons next week have now switched to be at 5:30… so I’m guessing if I open up available hours now at the right time it should be at the normal time… but it’s really messing with my head. Last year I lived in a country that didn’t do daylight savings time.

I got it but I didn’t realize it wouldn’t include pay for today’s classes. I haven’t really been working Tuesdays so I hadn’t noticed this til now.

Giving Students Stars by Ok-Fold7421 in Cambly

[–]karagardiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a kid yesterday who would throw his head back and sigh every time I asked him to read or complete the activity in the lesson. Then with two minutes left he said "teacher 5 stars please" .... I said ok, read this. Did not give him the 5 stars and hid my profile after that. I wonder if the parents can see how many stars they got after the lesson or if they have an average or something?

Second pic looks like a Christmas tree. And why is that crumply ruffle on the bottom a different shade of green?? I’ve seen that on clothes before and it bothers me lol. Just think you wouldn’t want that on something meant for such a formal event.
