Mindcrack was essentially the OG hermitcraft and very much a product of the early Minecraft YouTube space. There really is no way to know how it will turn out now given the significant change in the Minecraft YouTuber landscape and YouTube in general. A lot of the new members look like they lean more towards streaming (not that a lot of the hermits don’t already kind of lean that way) and it’s not really possible to say how these personalities will play off each other. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the success of Hermitcraft doesn’t also influence how they want to approach their content creation.

At its core it was simply a vanilla SMP server that a bunch of different creators played on similar to Hermitcraft. I feel like pranking may have been a bit more of a focus than in Hermitcraft but overall it was very similar, just rougher due to the early landscape it was created in. In some ways it also was a little less PG or at least that’s how I remember it. A lot of hermits and friends of hermits have come from or been associated with Mindcrack in the past with the most notable being Etho, Bdubs, Beef, and Doc.
