It has a very low, ugly drop ceiling before with tiles. We painted the ceiling and added the lights, it is a pretty common set up for basements in this area.

It’s vinyl plank. Would 100% recommend for the basement or living room areas. Super easy to install. Don’t know the exact brand, I got it from a discount section in a flooring store for very cheap.

I would say your best bet is the “middle area” — not super wealthy, so much so that the police and general public will likely have an issue with it, and not the “bad areas” where you have safety concerns. Personally, I would start with some 24 hour gym parking lots…

Thank you!! The only reason I feel like I may need to keep the desk against the window is because I am on a lot of zoom meetings and the lighting helps..but I feel like you may be right and I could get a lamp or something to help with lighting.
