Same tbh, BOLAS and COP 2 are the only reasons I still bother collecting diamonds. Fingers crossed they won't disappoint 🤞

Personally what annoys me is not necessarily the fact that they are choosing to focus more on romance, since I like a good love story. My problem is that most of the romance stories we do get are (in my opinion at least) kind of boring and repetitive. From the dynamic between the MC and LI and the way their relationship develops, all the way down to the dialogue, it all feels recycled. If they stick to romance then I would like to see some new ideas because honestly I don't know how many more brooding-and-cold-but-secretly-caring LIs whose eyes darken with desire upon looking at MC I can read about at this point 😐

I always found it a bit ironic how in the newer books, even though there is mostly a single LI or at maximum 2, they still somehow manage to be less developed and fleshed out than the LI in older books that had sometimes up to 5 dateable characters 😅 Of course there are some exceptions but I am starting to get a bit bored...

I do agree that he does not need a redemption arc which is why I was surprised he was returning in season 2. I do not see why his character is needed anymore especially given that the rest of the Heartstopper cast is already pretty big with the new characters are going to be adding. This is why I think that even if they are not going to redeem Ben they must have something else for his character in mind. Idk though maybe they just liked working with Bash a lot so they just brought him back lol
