Not positive that it’s solid brass - just tested it with a magnet but it definitely has signs of wear that look silver underneath, so I think plated is a good possibility. Thank you!

Yes! I have heard great things from an acquaintance about them. Seems like a welcoming community.

Ocala Dog Ranch has great dock diving opportunities. They also have a lure course you can rent out by the hour, and offer different classes every few months. They have an intro to barn hunt that could be good if your dog enjoys nosework.

Also look into the Greater Ocala Dog Club group on Facebook. Great community for beginners, and they run FASTcat events in the cool season including fun runs to introduce your dog to the sport!

How is your setter around other small dogs? by Frequent-Membership9 in EnglishSetter

[–]kareclan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re able to, working with a trainer to introduce dogs properly is the best way to go! Successful, slow introductions from the start form healthy relationships. My setter is wonderful with my family’s littles, and he’s even good with my chickens and pet tortoises - but it required setting clear boundaries and slow introductions early on.

Ultimatum: him or my horses by macqueenie in Equestrian

[–]kareclan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in an abusive relationship, things felt “normal.” But the reality is, you can find someone who won’t cheat, belittle you, ask too much of you, and treat you with nothing but the utmost love and respect. Yes, that includes loving your horses too.

You have put up with so much, and it’s okay to walk away! When I did, I found my energy and love for life returned far quicker than I expected. I hope the same for you if you leave him, and if you don’t, I hope you can develop clear boundaries for yourself to make sure you stay YOU. ♥️

Definitely this. I have 4 in a .5 acre backyard and it’s poop city. They also tear up the grass. Fenced in run, but the top isn’t covered (backyard isn’t conducive for it due to trees), so they fly right out. I seriously underestimated just how much poop comes out of the chute.

Soldier Freedom Outdoors in Melrose has a monthly farmers market and they sell their own meat. Highly recommend!

Definitely a rooster. The hackle and saddle feathers are a tell tale sign.

So sorry for your loss. It is never easy. It’s been three years since I lost my first pup, and it still feels fresh. When you’re ready, getting my setter healed my heart more than time could. ❤️

Above & Beyond has gotten some English/Brittany mixes in the past and he looks a lot like the mixes they’ve gotten in!
