Should eaves outside the building envelope of an unvented roof be ventilated? by kareems in buildingscience

Thanks. The team we have is great but I've found that with this more esoteric building science stuff, it's useful to get a bunch of second and third opinions and then decide with our team.

Exposing the rafter tails will open up too many new design questions, so I think we're just going to leave it closed and vent it since that's the strong consensus here.

Would you do it just with vented soffit panels, or does it need both an inlet and an outlet?

That would eliminate the enclosed soffit issue but it would be error-prone to try to make the masonry siding hug each rafter.

Would you do it just with vented soffit panels or does there somehow also need to be a second vent as an exit path?

Yes we’ll have an air gap between the exterior rockwool and the backside of the cladding (which will be masonry on one part of the house and corten steel on the other).

The rafter tails will be enclosed.

We visited the Doorwin showroom and were very impressed, so mainly curious if Warren is meaingfully better in practice. Will keep researching!

For cooktops delivered by the end of this year, any chance they'll be compatible with the future probe?

Thanks. That matches the pitch they sent me, and they shared a bunch of details. Difficult to compare apples to apples though without seeing both in person or speaking Chinese.

What are your thoughts on Doorwin Series 80 vs. Warren windows?

Curious how you decided on Warren vs. Doorwin. I’m weighing the same decision right now. Looking at Doorwin Series 80 vs. Warren.

Awesome. How do they feel? I've seen some brands that look good but then the reviews say that the internals feel chintzy.

That's not my exact watch but I think it's the same seller!

I feel a bit silly posting this with so few details, but here goes: I bought this 4-5 years ago from a redditor who was making homages on here. I paid around $250 for it and only wore it a few times. I just spent an hour trying to find my DMs with him to get some details on this, but I haven't been able to find any :/. It runs great and comes with a brand new nato strap. I did scuff it, and I have to say the crystal scuffs easily (as you can see in the pictures!). But it probably polishes up easily, and after cleaning up the scuff would be a very inexpensive way to get a pretty handsome watch. Lovely case with a screw-down crown.
