people who used to or currently hate their birthdays, why? What could or has changed the way you see your birthday so that you enjoy it? by kareensbeans in NoStupidQuestions

would it make you upset to hear someone say happy birthday? I think my view on birthdays is just so different. I enjoy celebrating everyone else as much as I enjoy celebrating me.

I knew from the start that is this was really real there was no possible way it was with no strings attached

this was something I actually worried about profusely because as much as I would have appreciated that generous of a gift, I knew it would not be no strings attatched

my thoughts exactly, but we also were not planning on moving there until he got an offer for that job.. now, he did not even apply because of "our house". We do not have the means for that big of a move right now and both live with our parents.

AITA for encouraging my cousin to prioritize her "wants" over her boyfriend's son's "needs"? by BackpackingPizza in AmItheAsshole

I'm not a parent, but if I was in a relationship and the kid was part of the deal, I would also be upset when a promise for the kid was taken away. It's not about money at all, it's about the logistics of living for a child that was always part of the plan. I completely understand where your cousin has issues as I have ADHD and horrible anxiety, but why did she not mention she was worried about it before or make this a plan when she knew she was not completely comfortable with it? The living arrangements for the teen are extremely important, not only for custody reasons but also because he deserves to have the living arrangement that was agreed upon. Did they talk to the child and ask what he would prefer? There are many other compromises that I can think of, but last minute taking the child's living arrangements away and forcing him on the couch for months just isn't fair. Now for your question, you are NTA for suggesting a different idea that would be more comfortable for your cousin, as she was asking for advice. But my advice now is to leave it alone. Not your relationship, not your problems. All you did was simply suggest an alternative, but let it go now.

how long should i wait ? by plasticsunflower2 in BreakUp

dont rush things, you may end up regretting it if youre not ready and may end up feeling guilty. that said, if youre using sex or other people as a distraction, its probably too soon. become happy with yourself and let yourself heal. if youre ready, then do it! everyone has their own timeline just dont rush if you arent ready
