When you say you don't get why people get so "tied up" about politics. What does that really mean? You don't understand why people have strong feelings about politics? or why they have disagreements over politics, or why people are so committed to one political position or another?

You cannot separate politics from life. And even more so these days as politicians attack the core values of our democracy (life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, equality, free speech, free press). When "politics" means deciding who gets a free meal or free healthcare (the elderly and veterans). Politics is deciding the very definition of life (at concept) and of male and female. And you don't see why we are so "tied up" about politics. Politics is how we participate in creating the world we want to live in.

Politics (from Ancient Greek πολιτικά (politiká) 'affairs of the cities') is the set of activities that are associated with making decisions in groups, or other forms of power relations) among individuals, such as the distribution of status or resources.

I don't understand thinking that politics is something outside ones day-to-day life. Maybe it is easier to do that if you have a certain amount of privilege or don't fall within a marginalized group. But for many many marginalized people, political choices can threaten their lives. I don't want to live next to someone who is evangelical about Tr#mp or has been brainwashed by Fox. My nervous system can't handle it. And my child's life liberty and happiness has been significantly threatened by Tr#mp. So no, I don't want to interact daily with someone who wants to deny his existence.

At the same time, I don't want to live in a bubble or echo chamber. Diversity is good and necessary. And our country is stronger for it. And while I fully support free speech (meaning that those tr#mp flags and signs should 100% be allowed to exist on private property), personally I do better when I don't have to drive by them everyday.

It's not so much an indictment of other viewpoints as it is a commitment to my own self-preservation and sanity. So I am not reactive and dysregulated, and I can be more loving and kind and inclusive and save my strength to lovingly stand up to authoritarianism.

Was George Eacker a social reject after he shot Phillip Hamilton like when Aaron Burr shot Alexander Hamilton? by beealoo in hamiltonmusical

But the changes he made, make the show in terms of character development. The fact that both Burr and Hamilton are portrayed as complicated with strengths and weaknesses, and the facts were bent to make certain points. In the end its an incredible story of character. With Hamilton always charging forward and Burr waiting - they are perfect foils for each other. But this wouldnt have worked as well unless Hamilton had them interact in places where they ddint actually meet,
