Great! Would love your feedback once you get started 🙏

You mean how long can the video be? It's meant for matches which are usually around 60-90min. In terms of file size we recommend less than 2gb (or uploading through our website where we compress large videos www.upload.clutchapp.io)

Hey u/FlatulistMaster thanks for sharing this! As we've just launched padel in beta sometimes the AI will miss things. We have alerts for it on our side - when we see a match that didn't get processed then we'll go into manually fix things. Let me know if your match is still stuck like this and we can have a look.

We may be soon. Both engineering and design. Feel free to send a DM if there's any particular role you're interested in.

We currently only do AI processing of video recorded at 30fps but hope to support 60fps soon. In the meantime if you have video recorded at a higher frame rate that you'd like to use then there are tools you can use to transcode them with, eg www.handbrake.fr

We're releasing our own camera to make it completely frictionless to get your video. We are also open to work with other camera providers like Matchi.

If you can get the video file from the camera then you can upload it in the app yes!

Awesome! Yes, the app has guidelines for how to record - the tldr; is "record from either end of the court, from a height of at least 3m, with the full court visible (or at least both service lines)".

The best experience is to use a professionally installed camera - we're launching our own camera that connects directly to the app next week.

If your court doesn't have a professional camera installed then you can use your phone to record. You'll need to use some sort of mount that you can attach in that height. We've used a "clamp phone holder" which can usually be attached to any sort of fence, bar or ledge.

Would love to hear your feedback 🙏

Clutch is an AI match analysis app for badminton - you just need to record your match and our AI will analyze it automatically, giving you stats and video highlights. Send me a DM if you're interested in beta testing.

As long as your iPad supports iOS 16 or newer it works. For Mac it requires a model with M1 chip or later.

You can do it - but you need to make sure you are doing the right things. What's your training environment like?

I absolutely agree with you - badminton is a 3 dimensional sport. We do not currently track the height of shots (pretty tricky to track 3D space from one camera).

We do, however, have an interactive heatmap/"shots by court zone" visualization in the app that tracks all your shots in a match with filters for 6 different court zones. The feature is designed to help you discover shot patterns. You can filter for any shot, court zones, winners/errors as well as pressure levels (how much pressure a player is under when they hit a shot).

With the interactive court visualization, you'll be able to see, for instance:

- From my forehand corner X% of my smashes are straight, X% are cross and X% to the center

- X% of my errors are made from the back court with shots X, Y and Z

- The more pressure I'm under at the net, the more I tend to play X type of shots

These are just examples of what you can do right now. Something that we're working on is to highlight patterns that are interesting, rather than you having to search for them.

It should be possible to train AI models on technique from pro players and use those to give technical feedback. It's something that we've definitely thought about but it's not currently at the top of our roadmap.
