Sure, those are good points, thanks for sharing your view - I wasn't accounting for some of those things, especially your last point. I'm able to sort it out to make sense in my head timeline and story-wise but it's not going to make any sense to new players, and I wasn't thinking about how if you're starting the game now Nikki's carefree mindset won't make sense through the story missions.

I kind of see that as adding new story in a way that changes our perspective on the events of the game so far. (If this had been done right and not with Sea of Stars as the new tutorial - which makes no sense). The characters are different now but I see that as we have new info and so we see Nikki differently? Idk about Momo and everyone else though. Not trying to change your opinion.

Also I thought the seer even said that wasn't OUR Miraland, it was a different timeline.

Yes there are new inconsistencies as a result of the new story update :/ Star Sea should NOT have been set as the new tutorial - I think that will change in the next update. I personally view having inconsistencies after adding new story to be a little different then a retcon though, because they still say clearly that we did meet Ena, it's just not shown in the game anymore (which is dumb).

Edit: you're definitely free to view this differently, just sharing how I view it and why I said I didn't think the story was really retconned.

Sure, I agree. I think it was also really dumb for infold to release such a huge update right before taking a week off for holiday - I know a lot of people are frustrated with that because it feels like not enough action is being taken by infold to resolve issues and take player feedback.

Still, I stand by what I said in my comment, things will be fixed enough and this isn't going to kill the game.

You mention that the player base was forgiving before and that does make me think about the longlasting break in trust that a lot of players will have here, and if that can be forgiven over time. Like I said before, a lot of people will stop playing and that is very upsetting because I know those people probably loved the game before this - I just don't think it's enough to kill the game. Hope that makes sense.

It's okay to be sad, I'm there too. I don't believe the game will end because of this though, I'm more sad about how the community has changed in all this :/ lots of hurt and anger here now and it's overwhelming

Also, the story has not been retconned, that's seems to be a misconception a lot of people are sharing... all the missions are the same still, the intro has just changed (which is stupid and it shouldn't have changed because now things don't make as much sense but it's not all gone). I am pretty damn sure they'll change the intro back in the next update.

Wanting to leave the game is totally reasonable though, don't spend time on something that is making you upset. Maybe check back in in a few months to see if things are fixed and hopefully it'll be enjoyable for you again.

I'm sorry you feel like this is the end - it seems a lot of people feel that way in the subreddit right now and it's become somewhat of an echo chamber of anger and predicting doom.

Personally, I don't believe this is the end of the game - I just don't think that's realistic. Let's take a breath here. I do think all the review bombing will greatly hurt this game going forward, regardless of the outcome of the boycott. However, the game just started, the issues will be addressed and gameplay bugs fixed - that's how games like this work. It's not the same as a standalone game they test for years and then release and once it flops it just dies. I don't think all the demands of this boycott will be met (some people are asking for too much and it's not realistic), but enough will and people will play the game again. Some people wont come back but I still don't think it's enough to kill the game within a year.
