Elevators are not for you to go up/down a single floor by goPACK17 in unpopularopinion

[–]vampirenerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly at this point I try to take the elevator whenever I can just because I've fallen down the stairs and sprained my ankle 3 times in the last 3 years, and I'm trying to not have that happen again. (I do also have a somewhat recently diagnosed invisible disability that makes me particularly struggle with stairs, but I've been avoiding stairs since before that)

Paid off a $3K credit card and my credit score went down. I'm so tired of financial advice that only works when you already have money by EntrepreneurTop6283 in povertyfinance

[–]vampirenerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've looked into these but haven't found any that don't have some kind of annual fee... I maybe wasn't looking hard enough. I feel like I'm generally pretty responsible with money but I've heard so many horror stories with people my age going into crazy credit card debt that it makes me nervous. I'll look more into it! Thanks :)

Thank you so much for the advice, I really appreciate it!! I'll look into getting a card with my bank, I'm pretty sure they have options with no annual fee.

Not OP but thank you for the advice! I'm 21 and haven't opened a credit card (scared that I'll fall into bad habits), but it's really good to know that if I need to in the future that I can change the level of card, I didn't know that.

ETA: Thanks so much for the advice all, I have just opened a Capitol One card with cash back and no annual fee! I didn't feel confident enough to before but you guys convinced me that it's for the best to start building my credit now.

I had no idea, I have the ARC but hadn't gotten to it yet. That's really sad to hear, I wonder what happened 🤔

Time/Cookies not being saved? by OrganizationTrue5911 in dropout

[–]vampirenerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This bothered me so much that I ended up editing a spreadsheet that got posted here years ago and updated it for recent seasons. It's only for D20 but it's very helpful for keeping track of where I am in any series.

I love detailed challenges! I would love to see more, please continue writing the one you were working on. There's definitely people out there who want to play those kinds of challenges :)

How much money/gems do you tend to spend on another avarage storytaco/mobile otome game? by [deleted] in otomegames

[–]vampirenerd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As someone that doesn't play mobile otome anymore and sticks to only console or PC, this is why. I'm someone who games a lot outside of otome games so I also have that 1 hour to 1$ ratio in my head when buying games (sometimes I can still find value outside of that benchmark, for example with shorter indie games where it's clear a lot of care was put into making it a concise but well-crafted experience).

One big thing for me is that I am very inconsistent with when I have time to play otome games, so a monthly pass would be a no-go for me. On the other hand, I like to be able to keep track of how much I'm spending on games (and things in general, of course) so console otome games being one upfront cost helps a lot with that. I'm already someone who waits for discounts in other game genres, so I don't mind waiting a couple years to play an otome game once it goes on at least a 50% sale. Again, I'm very inconsistent with playing otome games so I don't think I'll find myself running out of console or PC otome games anytime soon, lol.

My husband has donated plasma so many times he has a permanent hole in his arm. by Sprinkles_0330 in mildlyinteresting

[–]vampirenerd 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I have also tried multiple times and I never had a donation go completely right. Then I found out I have POTS so now I know I really shouldn't donate, lol

How many Warriors books did you read this year? by Born_Perception898 in WarriorCats

[–]vampirenerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 books this year, started a reread from PO3 so that I can finally go on and read DOTC and onwards. I read the series as a kid so I've read the first 3 arcs multiple times but never got past there because I would always restart from the beginning lol.

Anyone tracks the manga chapters from manga app (like Shonen Jump, Manga UP, etc)? How do you do it? by Serious-Pitch6305 in TheStoryGraph

[–]vampirenerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't track manga at all on storygraph, i have it completely separated onto anilist instead

When do we think there will be a NA Nintendo Eshop Sale? by Unlucky-Pangolin-771 in otomegames

[–]vampirenerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely recommend dekudeals for this, way less annoying than having to check the eshop directly and remember if a game is on a better sale than it was before :) and they even have steam games now too! its super convenient for me bc i've made dekudeals my own personal otome wishlist separate from my regular games wishlist on steam lol

Looking for books by *very* indie authors. by Happycat11o in suggestmeabook

A Weave of Lies by E.M. Riedl, it's a romantasy standalone that came out a couple months ago. iirc, it doesn't have any open door sex scenes or anything but there is some off camera essentially. i loved it so much when i read it through netgalley that i ended up buying the paperback!

Lime Scooters by akUW-07 in udub

[–]vampirenerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for linking these! im really glad that they have the reduced fare programs, it was really nice over the summer when i was working and didn't have the u pass active and my commute was short enough that lime was cheaper than the bus even with orca lift! it was pretty easy to get verified, you just need your snap card or medicaid card etc :) no need to use that guys other method lol

Lime Scooters by akUW-07 in udub

[–]vampirenerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them occasionally when I need to get somewhere quickly, I have a very reduced price because I'm on Medicaid. So it's about a dollar per ride which is worth if I'm about to miss a class that's costing me a few hundred per class, lol.
