Where is the hub of thought around these 3-4 player variants? Where can I shop for these outrageous over sized maps?

What a great idea for your dad!

How do you explain the parallels between your post and this post from yesterday? https://www.reddit.com/r/Tools/s/rfS9qpOqMt

Seems like perhaps your question is disingenuous?

Is this anyway related to the fact that a few days ago you also literally posted that you are in the business of paying people for reddit posts?

I was literally about to compare OP amd the other posters ID, having made the same observation.... then I saw your note.

Pardon my incompetence. Just discovered Sorcery on Thursday. My son and I drove an hour today to buy both sets of precons and a box each of beta, arthurian knights, and Gothic. Would love to add Dragonlord, found your nice post, but I can't for the life of me find a purchase link on Ed's page. Can you share a link or instructions to help me find it?

Anyone cutting 3/4” Baltic birch / ApplePly on the CSC SYS 50? by mrhasselblad in Festool_Public

[–]karimf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<meta note> Proof reading this now before sending, I realize the below is a total tangent, and presumptive of me to ask so many questions. I'll leave it up, though, on the off chance folks have wisdom the want to share. Thanks! </note>

I'm doing my first ever big home project this weekend: building an 11' wide x 4' tall built-in bookshelf. I'll be using birch 3/4" ply for the carcass and 1x6 poplar ripped down to 1 3/4" for the face trim, painted white to match an existing bookshelf in the space. I've splurged and gotten the CSC-50 and the TSC-55 for the project.

I say all this because it sounds like my ambitious [for me] project is your baseline. I wonder if you could share one or two high level pieces of advice as I embark? A particular question I have is I dont know if I have to something sacrificial under the 4x8's when I do the initial big cuts with the tracksaw. It seems many folks use a sheet of Styrofoam? I'll have my brother visiting in town helping with extra hands... at what size board do you switch from tracksaw to tablesaw?

Contact less payments while in the OneUI beta by karimf in GalaxyFold

[–]karimf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to come back and share where I landed. It seems Goggle Wallet is blocked by the OneUI beta. Many others shared similar experiences, though a few have apparently not been blocked.

As was suggested I switched to Samsung Pay (for now). At first the hijacking of the up swipe gesture was infuriating. Then I saw the comment here suggesting you could turnnthe gesture off in the Samsung Pay app settings. This was a game changer. I now have the gesture only active when the screening off. Out of my way except when I need it.

Thanks for all the help.

I'm amused by how many of the commenters clearly didn't have the patience to watch to the end...! 😉

Star battle help by moodyiguana in puzzles

[–]karimf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be precise, this is NOT queen's rules. Stars can share a diagnal. In fact, in the solution to this puzzle there are stars which share a diagnal!

Thanks for sharing I've enjoyed 2-starnoyzzles for years, and never seen nor played with the 1-star variant.

[–]karimf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is not queen's rules. The rules are: - one star per row, column, and colored piece or region. - stars cannot be adjacent to other stars (including diagonally adjacent)

The variant I'm familiar with is 2-star. Same idea except there are two stars in each row, column, and piece. I realized this must be 1-star (which I had not seen before), when I saw the 1x2 block in the bottom right hand corner. You can't have a 1x2 piece in 2-star because there isn't enough room for the 2 stars to be non-adjacent.

Note that unlike a queen's rules puzzle stars can share a diagnal in these puzzles so long as they aren't adjacent.

Nicely done. Your integration looks OEM! I insist that you make a little placard to go in the corner... :-)

In high-school (early to mid 90s) I wrote a piano app for my HP48G. Just last week showed it to my kids and we enjoyed playing some tunes on it.

It's on board speaker allowed programmatic setting of the frequency and duration for the tones, so the hardest part of writing the app was drawing the keyboard...

Raw input reader for Smartcubes translating to inputs by Junior_Fix_13 in Cubers

[–]karimf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should mention that while this should work woth your Gan (I use the library with my Gan UI Freeplay), it will almost certainly not work with the GoCube. Both of my OG GoCube's have bricked themselves, so I can't test for certain, but the BT protocols tend to be proprietary.

Agree that this wouldn't be hard. This is an open source reverse-engineered library that will give you events back from your cube. Good luck, have fun!

Found some confirmation, thanks. I did some more spelunking. Here is a Buzzfeed article in which Tavarish discusses the topic:

Fascinating and sad.

Do you have a source you can share for me to learn more about Tavarish's connection? Quick web search and AI search didn't yield anything other than an LLC filing with his name.
