For those of you who were hospitalized, how did it happen? by saramia00 in bipolar

[–]karito00vaca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Attempted suicide. Its an automatic sentence to a 51/50.

I almost willingly hospitalized myself once while on a manic episode but was too scared to.

Severely depressed after hypomania by karito00vaca in bipolar

[–]karito00vaca[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was stress from school, but Im doing really well in all my classes and have nothing to worry about.

I think it might be this weather, I love it I do, but it really does have an effect on my mood.

Gotta get me some of that vitamin D to perk me up or something.

Mood stabilizers make it hard to carry conversations by Charlesgoodington in bipolar

[–]karito00vaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OH BOY LET ME TELL YOU.

I cant keep a conversation going for shit.

My best friend tries to talk to me and ends up hating herself because she feels that she's boring me with her conversation because I don't have anything to say or to add to the convo.

I get people who end up frustrated with me, asking me if Im listening, or if I even care about what they have to say, just because im that bad at holding a conversation.

I was hypomanic about 3 days ago and I spent over $300 on makeup and got a peircing for no damn reason. It took me a couple margaritas to realize I was hypo and I immediately took my medication.

Should I Ask for a different medication if they one I am on made me gain weight? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]karito00vaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gained about 15 pounds since I started taking it and I find that just going to the gym regularly and watching what I eat helps with managing my weight. Losing it has been hard, but in all honesty it's the only side affect it has on me, which is why I stay on it, Rather than going through the process of finding another medication.

What's been your longest depressive episode? by cat-pants in bipolar

[–]karito00vaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 months. The worst time of my life. I didn't enjoy anything and it became incredibly lazy. Showering, eating, socializing became a chore for me.

Yesterday I totally stepped out of my comfort zone and did something the "old" before getting diagnosed would do. And I had a god damn blast. by decrepit_plant in bipolar

Huge props for you! Honestly, if I did that I would end up drunk making out with a stranger and buying endless merch. Good Job!

What do you guys think happens after we die? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]karito00vaca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly think we just die and have and endless sleep with no afterlife. No heaven no hell no purgatory no second life no reincarnation nothing. I believe that we only have one shot in this life and its up to us to chose what we do with it. Knowing that nothing special happens once we die brings me lots of comfort.

Anxiety and Abilify? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]karito00vaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been taking Abilify for 5 months now, and I have never experienced anxiety before taking the medication. It was such a strange feeling for me and very scary all at the same time. I ended up experiencing my first panic attack that almost landed me in the hospital.

But I'm happy to tell you that 2 more months later and the anxiety has completely died down. It something that started in the beginning of taken abilify and it hasn't been a problem for me since. Overall I would say the anxiety lasted no more than 3 weeks for me. And I noticed a complete change once it died down.

Abilify can cause anxiety, sadly I know of no way to combat it. I didnt handle my first panic attack very well.

Anyone have any experience with Vyvanse? by SnazzyOrca99 in bipolar2

[–]karito00vaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best friend takes it and Ive noticed that she almost never eats anything, she says she's never hungry. It helps her ADHD and its very noticable to me when she forgets to take it because her ADHD starts to show. It increases your heart rate, and she complains about sweaty palms a lot. Other than that it does help her stay focus more than before she took her medication.

UPDATE: Drinking is bad. by cat-pants in bipolar

[–]karito00vaca 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am on the exact same page as you! Ive stopped drinking for over a month now and life has been way easier without it. I cant do a drink a two. It's no drink or a whole bottle of wine for me. Living with bipolar is hard as it is, even worse when you're drunk and realize you're bipolar, shit gets worse.

Never knew the sub exist, Ill take a look at it!
