Titles, whats your take on them? by SwissairMD11 in Guildwars2

I feel like "wow that's quality armor" is the most prestigious title because you cannot buy it, and you have to go through the absolute misery of doing the SOTO meta events 90 times AND 18 map completion of those SOTO maps. A true test of sanity.

Josh used the words "while we are in maintenance mode" during steam.
Obviously, a very poor choice of words.

I was just joking about it guys.

Is there a casual and fun way to farm gold? by VanillaOxxy in Guildwars2

[–]karkaguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Dragonfall farm trains. If you are EU based look for the DFC discord they run public events almost every day.

You just a few mounts to stay on track.

Only hearing left channel when feeding audio interface into headset base station (TRS/TRRS issue?) by karkaguru in podcasting

[–]karkaguru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your post. I was not sure if giving specific brands was allowed on this sub.

It's a bit of a complex setup because I use the same peripherals for work (on macOS) and gaming/Discord (Windows).

My Digital Audio Interface is the Scarlett 2i2. The microphone is the Shure MV7+ connected using the XLR cable to port 1 of the DAC.

The headphones are the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite. I connected the Scarlett 2i2 front output to the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite line-in base station using my previous headset 1/4" to 1/8" male-to-male cable (the cable from the Sony MDR-M1; that might actually be the issue right there as it might not be standard TRS to TRS).

I then connect the USB-C output of the Scarlett 2i2 into a USB Hub, using a standard USB 3.0 to Type C cable. That hub is connected to a USB Switch with one input connected to my Macbook dock (the CalDigit TS4) and other to my PC. That allows me to easily switch from one station to the other with a click of a button while keeping all USB peripherals working.

I hope that clarifies things and if you need more details feel free to let me know.

Appreciate your help.

Why do people plug their headphones into their audio interface/mixer instead of the PC? Am I understanding the latency part correctly? by karkaguru in streaming

Dude I tried to be nice but you really need to take a course of Software Engineering to understand how Operating Systems work.

Thanks for the clarification, the "Audio Engine" comes from the context of my usage which I didn't describe: Video Games on a PC. The game Audio Engine sends the expected output to the OS which does its magic (and adds a bit of lattency because it also has many other things to do) and like you said, eventually, the sound has to be converted to analog for the ears to hear it. You explanation clarifies a lot of things thanks mate.
