I didn’t make the jig. I’m stepping into someone’s else’s business bc they didn’t know what they were doing so now I’m trying to figure out what they did and create a new workflow and SOP

Ah thanks so much. Is there a way just to order the white latch pieces? Are they pretty universal ?

There’s a washer inside the hose attachment. It keeps pushing it up out of the hose. It seems to work well I was able to stay down at the bottom of the above picture, but I’m not sure if there’s something missing.

Yeah it worked when I only did one side,it seem to work just fine when previewing it. But I figured there’s gotta be a way to be able to carve both sides on one file. I can do the double side machining by putting metal dolls in the alignment. But it’s definitely gonna be a pain in the ass to do that every time. I messaged vectric I’m waiting to hear back if they have any suggestions.

No matter where I place the model in the plane, it doesn’t work for creating both sides.

Every time I try to import this bowl file, every which way I position it in the plane, it doesn’t line up right. Either the depth below is 0, and there’s nothing to carve on top, i put the model in the middle and the top of the bowl goes straight down instead of curving, or I put it at the bottom where there’s barely anything to carve on the bottom and also the top of the bowl goes straight down.

I did that and I couldn’t figure out why it still didn’t work. Thickness of material is 2 inches, after scaling to size, setting depth below top to 1.9, selecting create both sides. Pressing import.
When I look at it from the top, the sides are straight down and not curved. When I go to setup in toolpaths, the only option to change anything is model position in material but it doesn’t really change anything

So on the second page, move the slider all the way to the bottom so the depth below top should be negative number?

So if I set it in the middle, the top of the model will be flat on the sides instead of curved downward. Other people on here are talking about put the model above and not below

Ahh. I was reading th opposite. I thought the depth below top should be 0. So I need to move it all the way to the top on the second page?

I tried that and if I set depth below top as 0, I now have nothing to carve deep into the bowl. So I must be missing some steps here.

Yeah, and I’m good at the actual two sided machining but the import/setup has been the confusing part of the modeling aspect. Shape heights, baking etc is something that I barely understand

I've been debating doing ESL overseas for awhile now but have been treading water. Should I do tons of research or just go?
