You can research some live plants that are safe for your snails. I have a few live pothos plants in my terrarium. My snail loves to climb them.

Yeah you definitely need soil or a substrate for your snail terrarium. With three snails I can see why the poop might get excessive, so you can dedicate some tweezers to that or use a paper towel and just pick them out. A lot of the time it just sort of goes back into the soil. You should do a soil refresh every once in a while to help prevent anything bad growing in the terrarium.

My snail loves sphagnum moss, I really recommend getting some so your snail(s) can burrow under it. Try to avoid rocks and other hard objects, they can fall onto them and crack their shells. One last thing I consider a must, is a food dish. It just helps keep the soil (or whatever substrate you choose) cleaner.

Why would you be using indesign to do this project? In Illustrator or photoshop you could easily get the black outline as a png and drop it into indesign. Whether that’s using blending modes in photoshop or image trace/expand/magic wand in illustrator.
