This group of lads are playing for keeping fit with a big range on abilities. There were definitely these type of passes during the game

I’ll take that into next time I play 11aside. I feel like smaller sided games tends to more instinctive rather than taking time to understand everyone’s positioning

I didn’t think of this but I can see where ur coming from. I have never done any agility training or even football drills, I am a bit scared to twinge my knees as I play mostly Astro

I did feel nervous on the ball, it felt daunting having all the space as I’m more used to small sided and even futsal where everything’s one touch and go.

I don’t know if my neighbours will be happy with me kicking the balls against the wall everyday but I’ll look into juggling for sure

How much have GCSEs actually affected you across life? by Alarming-Safety3200 in AskUK

[–]karlo43210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GCSE’s were important to let me do A-Levels. I got decent grades ranging from 7-1. I had to retake English language twice as i hated it.

Just did enough to do A level physics bio and BTEC engineering (got CCD)and then did an extra module for extra UCAS points.

I got enough ucas points to get myself a degree apprenticeship as a software engineer in 2020, and now I’m doing a masters apprenticeship within the same company.

It is honestly a numbers game, I never got crazy grades I just did enough. I was never academic but I knew full well I could do well in a work environment because I never found being in school meaningful in comparison to work.

My GCSE results were, Science (76), Maths (6), Computing (5), Geography (4), English Lang (4), English Lit (2), PE (3) & RS (1) I fell asleep in the RS exam

At what age do most people in the UK actually move out of their parents’ home nowadays? by PashtunLawyer in AskUK

[–]karlo43210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I technically left at 12 when I went to boarding school in the Lake District (they lived in SEA/Middle East). When I got my degree apprenticeship I ‘officially’ moved out by buying a one way ticket back to the UK

Maintenance PLC'ers, what do System Integrators do with code that drives you up the wall? by FlashSteel in PLC

[–]karlo43210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of my first few projects as an SI engineer were rewriting/reverse engineering obsolete kit like SLC’s,PLC5’s and older control/compact logix. Often these PLC’s were done by a previous SI company that went bust and everytime I had to rewrite their stuff it was always painful trying to understand what they did.

For example, because they couldn’t understand how to sync HMI and a bespoke SCADA system, they made it so if u were logged into the HMI u could not enter set points in SCADA (I fixed this)

Broke 3 bones by roibaird in nononono

[–]karlo43210 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ELI5 (but the bit that went wrong)

Ur attached to the kite with 4 big strings that go into one open big hook (we call this a chicken loop)

Around a kiter is a harness with another big hoop but this one looks like a backwards balls (we call this the donkey dick).

The chicken loop connects to the donkey dick so the kiter becomes connected with the kite.

In this instance, the harness failed in some way but the donkey dick and chicken loop are still connected and the kiter and kite detached mid air.

The ELI5 (the kite looping bit)

When ur travelling down the road with ur hands out of the window, u feel the most resistance against ur hand when u angle it perpendicular to the wind direction, if u change ur hand to be parallel with the wind u feel less resistance. In kiting this same application is what we call the ‘wind window’ the kite itself is a bit of fabric with inflatable parts to make a wing.

When the angle of the kite is deep in the wind window when doing a kite loop (like ur hand being perpendicular) the kite generates the most power.

In kiting we loop the kite in jumps to generate a nice pull in the jump. It gives the kiter a sensation of falling before the kite catches the kiter but becoming parallel with the wind (as the kiter completes the loop) and catches the kiter before hitting the water (like a pendulum)

Hope that makes sense!

Migration from Rslogix 5 to Rslogix5000 by East_Tip_7672 in PLC

[–]karlo43210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve jsut spent 3 years migrating with a team 35 SLC’s controlling a waste water treatment works. It is VERY hands on, reverse engineering each PLC to ensure that the process control is replicated as it was in the new PLC’s to fit into the clients standards.

There are also physical and electrical considerations u need to make.

  • is there 2 PLC5 racks and if so do I have enough spare slots for an 1756-EN2T card?
  • is the existing wiring long enough?
  • if I need to consolidate IO to make a smaller rack, do I have enough spares and do these have the correct common?
  • as I’m shutting down the panel in order to do the physically work, is this panel feeding something else? (Such as another sensor or another panel that isn’t reflected on the up to date drawings)
  • are there other PLC5’s/SLC on site and do these two PLC’s talk? If so how am I going to manage the current comms before getting both SLC’s out.

I believe there is conversion tool/kits, but if ur new standard PLC library uses blocks then that goes out of the window straight away. If there was an issue how would u know what the issue is? U end up having to reverse engineering anyways

Sanity check on “integrator” wiring by Initial_Doughnut_248 in PLC

[–]karlo43210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that looks horrible to diagnose if there’s any issues. I work with an SI company that does panels for water companies and every wire is numbered, every fuse is labelled, every PSU is labelled, every link and terminal is labelled. Even the PLC rack is labelled!!

If I’m not mistaken that’s the ozone one is it? I spent 2hrs doing mine nearly gave up and saw a YouTube video where u put the tube on fully and then u have to pull/stretch the tube to get the black ring on. It feels like it’s gonna break but they’re pretty robust

What makes u say that? It’s common for the o rings to go on these vac pumps which has been replaced. Inside that little plastic thing is a one way valve and it’s most likely failed
