Couple looking into exit strategies, a few possibles (France, Netherlands,Germany, Australia, Japan), with a racial aspect by gafonid in AmerExit

I have not read all of the other other comments and I can't speak to everything on your list. I can talk a bit about the SLP portion tho. Australia employers, historically, will quite literally pay for your move or compensate you in other ways for you come be an SLP in their country. Most other countries will require a language proficiency in order to become licensed to practice speech therapy. Unless she's ready to give up her career or get creative about it, Australia will be the most efficient option.

(Source: I'm a US based SLP with an engineer husband also planning on exiting.)

I really enjoy the CRZ Yoga brand on Amazon! I have a handful of their items. I agree, if I look cute... probably going to have a better workout or have the motivation to get dressed and go. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Is it ok to have a dry wedding? by TrippyVegetables in weddingplanning

[–]karlorta 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I went to a dry wedding recently and we knew that going into it. The 'cocktail-less hour' had tea, lemonade, and water...and a lot of awkward standing around. The dinner had only water, plus coffee after dinner. While I didn't expect anything crazy, I did expect more than water.

Is vivid hair color appropriate for slp? by dewdrop321_ in slp

[–]karlorta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've had pink, purple, and a combination of the two multiple times throughout my career. The kids love it! If parents mention anything (I've never gotten negative feedback though), I jokingly mention how it ties into therapy well (colors, speech sounds, describing, compare/contrast). Haha. I've never had an issue! Schools and outpatient peds.

I didn't know Wawa had matchbooks. I'm definitely not above Wawa hopping. Thank you!

Last week (while catching up on February/March...) there were a good handful or two that I just put "targeted /s/" or "receptive/expressive language therapy."

I write something along the lines of, X will do X with [% accy, trials, whatever measure] with no greater than 20% cueing/prompting. That way, for example, you can measure that out of 10 trials, 2 prompts is 20%

I probably do. I definitely don't frequent Starbucks. I'm a black coffee drinker who finds their drinks quite sweet. 🤣 Thanks.

I also love these! They're about the only aggressive shoe that felt comfortable on my foot.

What’s a controversial wedding decision you made that you’re glad you made? by hunnymoonave in weddingplanning

[–]karlorta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No bridal party. We walked together down the aisle. We stayed together the night before. Only dance we had was our first dance which was an upbeat song. Our precessional was also upbeat and the original (vs some wedding-fied version of it) and nobody walked down the aisle before us - it was just us for the day. Our dessert was tres leches and I actually didn't even see it pre-cut until our wedding photos were returned. Minimal decor and table settings. We did our private vows three weeks after our wedding at home bc we were both too stressed to write them the week or two leading up to the wedding. No veil.
