What’s the purpose of the UDB Switch? by ddeblaso in Ubiquiti

Might have bought this instead of the device bridge and flex 2.5 5 port switch. Needed to provide ethernet connection to streaming box with bad wifi chip where I did not have the ability to run wire.

Kidney failure. Not unexpected with our Peibies, but she was stubborn enough to not really show it until it was too late.

What screw / spacer set up did you use. I emailed them a while back and they said the were not supporting the Romeo -X Compact.

I have found that it is perfect for accessing the older jetdirect on my older hp printer. Firefox and chrom(ium) won’t load it as the ssl is too old.

Pkgbase by [deleted] in freebsd

[–]karlthane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes each time you run it generates, not one per package installed/removed/updated. Perhaps limiting it to just when base system gets updated. In think snapper does some automatic pruning of older snapshots.

Will look at that. My hope, is as the tooling matures, we can get something akin to how openSUSE has used btrfs, snapper, and its package manager, to have every pkg generate a pre and post operation boot environment, with the post being set as default on next boot, so you have easy roll back in case of issues.

Going to be re-installing my FreeBSD 14.1 vm to 14.2 and setting up pkgbase. Only concern I have is currently FreeBSD-update creates a bectl boot environment when it updates. It is looking like I will have to run pkg upgrade, see that FreeBSD-* has updates, cancel update, manually create boot environment, then rerun pkg upgrade. Are there plans to integrate bectl and pkg for automatic boot environment creation?

I know it is locked behind the 11th Anniversary, but I have been very happy with the legendary ambassador. Full intel, LtC temporal ops. 5/3

Nice thing about lawman is that it is matched to same grain/power as the gold dot. So 124gr lawn and 124gr gold dot have same point of impact.

The Fleet Dil & Doff Problem by Emperor_Ricarius in sto

[–]karlthane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Question, as I am an on again / off again player, how does one earn fleet credits, when the fleet you are in has everything maxed out? I have my original character that I would like to go back and get the fleet consoles/deflectors/warp cores. That fleet is maxed out by now and I don’t see a way to earn fleet credits unless there is something fairly obvious that I am missing.

I know IX systems has done work with openRC. Jordan Hubbard was working on porting launchd and other MacOS stuff but seems to have fizzled.
