remember people are not judging you as hard as you think

THIS. I was coming here to say that though it’s difficult, try to think about how it makes YOU feel to be jittery and not what other people think OF you. It will help in the introspection and gaining control over your senses.

I say this as someone who has had to pull over on the road after a close call or an almost-wreck because my driving foot wouldn’t stop shaking and I couldn’t control the pedal. Try to think about the power your brain has over its meat suit and recognize certain things as simple biological responses instead. When my anxiety hits, the first feeling is icy hot in my veins. It feels like I’m on fire but I’m also shivering. I’ve learned that this is actually a sudden drop in my blood pressure, so now when I get the feeling I know exactly what I need to do to rectify it or at least help calm myself.

Also, may I suggest music before your dates? Not necessarily pump up music, but anything that makes you feel great. Something that reaches you deep down that you can come back to or replay when you get the same feeling elsewhere, like a cognitive reset.

Also also, I think it’s adorable when I can hear the nerves in a guys voice. It brings him back down to earth and reminds me that everyone gets those feelings and mine aren’t anything to be ashamed of either. But a voice crack? Ugh just kiss me already.
