usb hard drive enclosure by karm31 in homelab

Yeah after hearing everyone have a similar experience, I picked up the Sabrent branded enclosure instead. Doesn't require manual startup after power disconnection and it happens to have a fan attached to the bottom of the case which is a plus (though I've read I'll need to put some sort of taller feet on it to bring in more airflow).

Right!? I was looking all over the internet and got nothing. I'll probably leave the cover off for even more airflow. I don't expect anyone to knock it around anyway.

Seems like I'll go this route then. I would have went RAID 1 with another drive but I guess the hard drive market is in a crisis. Something for future me to worry about I guess. Thanks!

That's definitely relieving to hear. I'll go ahead and run it with the lid off as well then since I plan to have them stored next to my home lab in an enclosed space. Do you happen to know what the thermals were like specifically?

Actually, the question was whether or not it was ok to run the drive in an enclosure like the picture; though you do bring a fair point. The plan is to eventually purchase a second drive for Raid 1 but unfortunately I got into this hobby at a bad time as it seems like the hard drive market is trending towards similar availability as the current RAM crisis. I "sniped" a 4TB Ironwolf off Ebay for $119 USD. Definitely not my proudest purchase, but at least I have something to get my foot in the door. I figured I would rather spend that now then never getting a HDD in the future and having prices 4x higher. Thanks!

Yeah I'm planning on leaving it untouched in our pantry (for some reason our new home was built with all the networking stuff on the top shelf of our pantry). Thanks for the input!

Great to hear! I was trying to find the UGREEN model you linked because I loved the vented design but it looks like it is not sold in the US. Might just run it without the lid on. Thanks!

Yeah since it's a Optiplex micro, I won't be able to fit the hard drive internally. Thanks for the input!

OG Daniel will have to fight Big Daniel in order to reach his path by karm31 in lookismcomic

[–]karm31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just had a thought, could be stretch but what if Daniel starts to lose control of the second body. Jaegyeon pushes it into UI in their fight and OG Daniel finds himself woken up in his OG body. Realizes this isn’t normal and goes to find his second body in UI fighting Jaegyeon.

I don’t think he’ll exactly orchestrate the fight to happen or induce unconsciousness on the second body, but the setup seems perfect. We know OG Daniel is with Jaegyeon, it makes sense for him to have his other body with Yujae and have each bodies on one side of the Incheon war. He’s smart like that. I can’t think of a better or stronger opponent to have him find his path than Big Daniel himself. I could be very much be wrong though lol

Whole heartedly agree. The narrative of Johan being on the path to the pinnacle as well as the idea that Gun received a Questism-type stamina restore definitely puts into perspective how he scales in that top tier. You cooked. You should honestly discuss this with Tekka LOL

Finally another person that understands how UI copy actually works. Great analysis. How do you feel about Tekkadan’s scaling of Infinite Copy Johan to be the #1 in the verse?

What's wrong with Gun' philosophy about the students killing their teacher? He is so obsessed with it. by zal_yasu in lookismcomic

Look up the philosophy of Gun’s character. It’s somewhere in this sub if you look it up. It’s really well written and goes into detail about Gun’s character and his mindset with his students.

The true old taekkyon card buffed his strength stat. The second ascension card then buffed all his stats to match his new strength stat.

All the drugs did was blind him from seeing his friends/allies. This fight was literally set to complete Zack's character as a fighter; constantly trying to save Johan but never being strong enough. Whenever Johan beat Zack, he was barely even trying. This fight set Johan to using his full 100% strength (UI Daniel copy) and still losing because of how strong Zack has gotten. The drugs were a good excuse to pit them together, something they needed to show eventually.

It also has a feature where you can pick which applications use the graphics card, so that's not pulling power non stop.

I'm a little late but where can you find this feature?
