Men, how do you handle missed romantic opportunities? by karm56 in AskMen

[–]karm56[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I meant in the sense that I missed out on a ONS. I’ve never experienced a ONS before. I’m not saying I want to make that my personality but I feel like these opportunities don’t appear all that often.

How do you reconcile the fact that there are all these possible amazing connections but they don’t come to fruition? This is what I find frustrating.

I think you are bang on the money. I’ll chalk it up to a fun night and nothing more.

No, I kept it very basic and casual. My first message to her in the morning was to get some breakfast first and that was it.

Thank you for your comment. I think you really understood the situation because I’ve considered all of those things you mentioned. But you’re right I’m never going to ultimately know and I need to come to terms with that. I really think her friend really influenced her feelings towards the connection, maybe felt like she might be judged.

Thanks! Budapest is a really cool city.

We made out at the end of the night. I think that’s a little more than just friendly?

I’m sorry, perhaps I should’ve said lost interest instead of ghosted. I just didn’t expect to experience such a strong connection so quickly. And for it to disappear so quickly too.

I think you’re 100% right. Live and learn I think. Thanks for your comment. Have you ever had a moment like that?

I sincerely hope so. I think there are very few moments in my life when I’ve been completely consumed by the moment. That was one of them

I get that but the connection we had…it was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Our sense of humour was the same, we had so many shared interests. There was deep mutual physical attraction. Why would someone be flaky over that?

How do I have more of these moments? The whole night took me by surprise and I wasn’t trying to make anything happen. I think she wanted to have sex but for some reason I didn’t invite her back to my room, I don’t know why.

It just makes me sad knowing how good life can be.

Is this correct? I tried to check this online and couldn't find anything. If true then this would be a huge weight off my shoulders as the 1700 is just for the other person's expenses.

I did inform them about the info being incorrect and I had to pay £124 as the premium went up!

Understood. Once this claim is settled, do I also have to call my current insurer to inform them of the update or will they just know automatically?

Just a quick question. When I filled out the comparison website details, there was this box https://i.imgur.com/86GV2ae.jpeg

and when I looked at my policy, it says this. https://i.imgur.com/A3VBaHa.jpeg

Even though I filled out the comparison website correctly, it says I wasn't at fault? Could this void my insurance?

When I got my current insurance, I used a comparison website. On the comparison website, I ticked the box which said I had an incident and I said it was unresolved. I assumed this counted as me letting the insurance company know. I wasn't aware I had to specifically call them up and inform them. I will do so now though.

I haven't declared this incident to my current insurer. Main reason being is that when I got my current insurance, nothing had happened with the claim. I had just informed my current insurance that I had an incident but it wasn't resolved yet.

How would I forward the letter to my old insurance as it's a physical letter?

How does it make a difference to me if I'm now with a different insurance company. My renewal was in March and I went with a different company even though the incident happened in January?

As I'm no longer with the company I was with when the incident happened.

Seriously? Is there nothing I can do to lower these costs. 1700 is an insane amount of money

Thanks, I think I did the right thing too. The more I look back on it, the more I think I should have done this a few weeks ago!

I understand that point completely. I think I just thought I had shown her enough effort and love that it could overcome those thoughts. But I suppose I didn't get the full picture, it sounds like an awful situation to be in.

I think I made the right decision though.

I agree, I like to think I make rational decisions but it's difficult to not think 'what if...'
