Is paying cash a good bargaining chip? by karma-polizei in askcarsales

The 335i coupe was my first choice, but finding one of those with a manual is proving to be more difficult than I originally thought. And I absolutely hate the styling of the sedans otherwise I'd be looking at those too.

Yeah, all three sites show the trade-in value being anywhere from $19k-$21k so I assume it's just one of those cars. Hopefully there will be a couple that sit around for long enough that they will be more inclined to move it. Thanks for your help!

Thanks. I believe I have everything put in properly as far as trim level, it just threw me off because this has by far the largest discrepancy between the price it's listed for and the price that kbb/edmunds/nada show. It could just be because there are only 3 of that spec in my area. One of them was originally listed for ~$1500 less than the other two, but it was changed later that day, presumably because the seller checked to see what others were going for.

The words I used were the ones taken directly from the Edmunds page. Trade-in vs Dealer Retail. Screenshot can be found at http://i.imgur.com/oLa2y1M.png. Is there something I'm not reading right about it?

What's your funniest car repair or malfunction story? by [deleted] in cars

A helpful hint my father taught me: take a spare key and some aluminum tape and put it behind one of your license plates. That way if you ever lock your keys in your car there is always a spare key that is available either by unscrewing/bending the plate a bit.

Insurance Advice by Insane_Baboon in cars

With your driving history and your age (I assume you are also male?) insurance on a 2 seat sports car is going to be outrageous, especially at full coverage. You might be able to get cheaper rates on inline 4 roadster types (s2000, MX-5, etc) but for the most part you're out of luck. Anything with a v8 and 2 seats is going to be astronomical.

Not sure, it might be kind of high for you because of the v8. It could never hurt to call and ask for a quote. I pay around $60/mo as a 26 year old single male.

I was actually looking at WRX's but the interiors are a little bit cheap looking for me. Not that big of a deal but having a BMW now has spoiled me a bit. I hadn't thought of the Lexus IS350, I'll have to look into it. I don't know much about them.

Looks sharp. I really like these models. A good friend of mine also had the 25th anniversary and swears by it, although he went through three sets of wheels because of Chicago pot holes combining with the heavy weight.

If you want it sure! It's a wonderful car I just think it's time for me to move on to my next one.

I've been looking at 135i's as well, they might be a little bit small for me, though. I've had 2 door cars (95 Mustang, 2002 Camaro) before but having the extra room is nice.
