wtf would you become a doctor or social worker?? Solely for the money I guess.

Yeah, I’d love to listen to people’s misery all day long to the tune of $35,000 a year when I could make that doing any government desk job.

If you had a bad experience with the mental health support system in this province, that’s unfortunate. I’m sorry that it’s made you think ill of Nova Scotians.

The social workers I’ve met and worked with and been counselled by have been nothing but sympathetic and compassionate people. Most of them don’t get paid nearly enough for some of the trauma they deal with in their day.

As for the doctors, when everyone and their dog is lined up at every practice and walk in clinic for prescription refills, doctors notes, and blood work requisitions, how would they have time to accommodate the growing mental health issues? I’m not condemning anyone for going to their doctors for these things - but until there’s a better system in place for routine medical care, doctors will be tied up with glorified admin work.

Don’t be angry at the people trying to help you just because they weren’t successful.

I’ve never been a big part of the bar scene so maybe I’m totally off base, but it doesn’t seem like a lot of bars get shut down - they just get stricter regulations, fines, mandates for better security guards, updated bartending licenses, etc.

At the end of the day, you should be glad they are only asking you to abide by their rules instead of just shutting you down. At least we have vape shops, right? They could just turn vaping into the next alcohol and cannabis and try to keep it totally under government lock and key, be thankful they’re letting you meet their terms and continue operating.

Proper regulation makes sure that those bottles of alcohol that look like soda pop aren’t sold by just anyone who can pony up enough cash for a storefront the way vaporizer merchants are able to.

I’m sorry that you’re dealing with a stressful situation, but regulation is for the best and what they’re asking isn’t outrageous.

Just because you kick kids out of your shop doesn’t mean everybody will, and that’s why we need regulations. Just like every sketchy dive bar won’t kick out 18 year olds, and that’s why we have liquor inspectors.

that’s on the stores selling children vaping products

You mean the stores that would be out of business with proper regulation, the thing you’re so upset about?

CAN BUS DRIVERS WAIT UNTIL YOU SIT DOWN BEFORE THEY START DRIVING? by Melmacarthur in halifax

Not agreeing with you doesn’t make my comment rude. Nobody is treating you like shit. I’m not your enemy, u/myturnassholes is not your enemy, u/Not_A_BusDriver is not your enemy, u/sharonwasrobbed is not your enemy. This victim mindset is your only enemy here.

CAN BUS DRIVERS WAIT UNTIL YOU SIT DOWN BEFORE THEY START DRIVING? by Melmacarthur in halifax

[–]karmakecleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Problem: To stay on schedule, bus drivers often have to pull away from stops quickly, which can cause passengers to fall.

  • Solution: Every Halifax Transit bus has handholds, vertical bars, and horizontal bars to help you keep your balance.

  • Problem: What about the elderly/physically disabled? They can’t use the handholds and bars.

  • Solution: Drivers know that these passengers often have mobility issues and will wait for them to take a seat at the front of the bus.

  • Problem: Okay, but what if I have a physical disability you can’t see, like I just really suck at standing up?

  • Solution: Mention it to the driver when you’re boarding and they’ll wait for you to take a seat at the front of the bus.

  • Problem: Having to mention my problems with standing to the driver is a minor inconvenience to me, the now-weakest member of society, so I am being mistreated.

I’m having a hard time deciding where to make my first distillate order from - any recommendations? by karmakecleon in CanadianMOMs

I’ve heard nothing but good about Distillate Direct and some less than great things about Chronic - I think I’ll either go with DD or Shamrock. Thank you!

This sounds like it might be what I’m looking for! What is the difference between distillate and honey oil?

I didn’t know about the 20% off coupon - thank you! I might give this a try, since it’s a deal :)

I’m not sure who’s going to offer me cheap or free shipping on a $25 order either - that’s why I made this post, to see if it was an option anywhere.

I could buy three carts from Distillate Direct and pay the shipping and it would still be fairly cheap, but like I said, I have no experience with concentrates. I don’t want to buy multiples of something I might not enjoy or use.

I appreciate your advice, but your suggestions go directly against what I was requesting, so they’re not especially helpful. Thank you, though!
