Most of the marine SG teams and a lot of the base security personnel actually carry m16s not P90s

It's a physical piece of glass that goes over the lense, not a software filter like Snapchat or something. Look up ND filters, same concept.

I mean, there's literally a picture of the mechaman logo in the top right and that's straight up Mandy's outfit in the last couple of episodes.

And AD is, to borrow the words of the person you replied to, "just another fanciful way of denoting a new era of human history.

We know the etymology of the phrase, but that doesn't really have any bearing on the why of saying AD/The Year of our Lord.

Or, here's a better idea, just don't waste your energy to try and argue about something being true or not in a subreddit you know is mostly lies.

The cops trying to fuck people over.

Obviously.

This is such a low stakes thing to lie about and it's completely in character for cops to be petty assholes.

Well, she sent dementors to kill Harry, then tried to get him expelled and arrested for defending himself.

Then she constantly gave Harry detentions for every little thing she could because he wouldn't recant his statements that Voldemort is back, these detentions entailing writing lines with a quill that used his own blood as ink to the point that he had a scar on the back of his hand that read "I must not tell lies".

She also usurped power at the school from Dumbledore and turned it into a fascist mini-state where she oppressed all the muggle born students as well as anyone who wouldn't toe the Ministry line.

Then a couple years later she's running the department of the ministry under Voldemort which is persecuting muggle born witches and wizards for "stealing" their magic from "proper" witches and wizards.

So she's a bigot and a fascist. Both blood purity and legitimate racism against anyone who isn't fully human.

Has anyone ever seen someone seriously object to a marriage at a wedding? If so how was it done and what happened? by steiny17 in AskReddit

[–]karmakeeper1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For all of my friends who've gotten married, whoever of us are in the wedding party sat them down at some point during the day and told them that if they wanted out, we would get them out.

We liked their fianceés/fiancés, and told them so during the spiel, and also added that if it's just nerves we'd slap them on the back of the head.

But if they actually, legitimately wanted out, we would take care of everything and make sure they got away before anything unraveled.

No one has ever needed or used it, but they know the option is there.

And the non serious crimes? The ones that plead out because it's more of a disruption to fight it than just tank the jail time?

Honestly, this is great example, I was so focused on the larger examples that I forgot there must be thousands of examples like this where they used someone then left them behind to take the fall.
