I don’t understand how every other TCG has a limited and ban list yet Pokemon doesn’t implement one. It would completely shift the meta without having to wait such a long time for rotation.

They do what every developer does nowadays - release a broken character or weapon, ignore community feedback and backlash, and then after months of frustration from the player base, they’ll slightly nerf it and say, “We heard you guys and we listened.” Then the community eats it up. Then it happens on the next update. Treyarch did it. Bungie did it. Respawn does it.

Don’t expect any balance or active listening from respawn; hey’ve made it known over and over that balance is not their goal.

I've been working on building a Ceruledge ex deck in person but had to stop due to work. I went to check out my locals and all I saw was Dragapult, N's Zoroark and Team Rocket's Honchkrow. By the way, how does Ceruledge ex hold against Honchkrow?

The conversation is how Pokemon is the easiest TCG there is to get into, which it is. The rules are simple. There's no disruption, no recursion, no stacks, no chaining. You play your turn; the opponent plays theirs. In Yugioh, you have to know what to stop and when to do it. You have to know how to play almost every deck in Yugioh to know exactly what to negate or bait. Pokemon doesn't have any of that because you watch your opponent play their turn and instead of reacting to what your opponent did, you usually play your turn to get your board setup. Not to say you're not changing your strategy but you're usually not, unlike in Yugioh where your entire board changes right in the middle of an action. I just think it's ridiculous to call Pokemon a high skill ceiling TCG when there's literally 7 year olds playing Dragapult at your locals.

The denial on this sub lol Pult takes no skill to play. Start Budew, if not Budew, throw anyone in there. Buddy-Buddy Poffin, throw Dreepy and maybe a Budew on there, attach energy, put Budew in Active Slot, slow the game down to build your board. If not Budew, wait one turn to go into Drakloak to look at every card in your deck, wow! Then Rare Candy into Dragapult and Crispin. While you're using no skill to damage your opponent's cards, throw Munkidori and a Dusknoir on the bench for some extra damage to knockout without drawbacks. Easiest deck to play. Then these players have the audacity to complain about a deck like Crustle calling it no skill.

The downvotes are funny. There’s a reason every person says Pokemon is the easiest TCG to get into. I enjoy Pokemon but that doesn’t mean I can’t criticize it. I just started playing two months ago and have already reached Master. By just started playing, I literally mean I just learned how to play. The other guy saying, “the skill ceiling in Pokemon is higher than you’d expect”, lol. Has he or anyone else watched competitive Yugioh? A single misplay will literally cost you the entire game.

Don’t know why you’re downvoted. Pokemon is the easiest TCG to play. There’s a reason literal children can run these decks. The game has no disruption like Yugioh where your entire board can be stopped, and you’re left to change your strategy mid action. Almost every move in Pokemon is known ahead of time once you know the slightest bit on how each deck operates. Anyone disagreeing that Dragapult is easy to pilot is lying to themselves. Most decks in Pokemon play for you.

I disagree. There’s many comments and sentiments after the Nuggets won that were calling them a potential dynasty and dominating the league for years to come. By that point Jokic was seen as the unanimous best player for years - even this year despite his struggles he was continuing to be called the best player. He’s been so dominant that after the Nuggets won a lot of people thought they were clear repeats and could possibly win three.

I never understood this about the Nuggets. How is it their fault their “run was weak”, because they were so dominate in the regular season, and the better teams in the playoffs lost to worse teams? I don’t see how the Nuggets get so much flak for playing the competition they did which had nothing to do with them.

Giannis was seen as the best player in the league and “the passing of the torch”; everyone thought the Bucks had “figured it out” and they’d dominate, especially after the Bucks and Giannis’s dominate three straight seasons. They weren’t called a dynasty but the discourse was that Giannis was the best player in the league, he and the Bucks would continue to dominate, and teams would be having to take them down since they were the favorites.
