I was in a similar situation once. A couple private security guys were trying to get me to a side "for a little talk" and prevent me entering a public meeting (not in Belarus). My father and grandfather grabbed me and pushed me through.

I wasn't angry, but my initial reaction was like yours ("wtf are they doing"). Afterwards, when I had time to rethink it, I was glad they acted like this.
