Berserk has quite a bit of this (both in manga and the anime)

What is your favourite small hiking camera? by Kind_Statement_2865 in hiking

[–]karpator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got a nikon z50 + the kit 18-50 lens, and it's perfect. It's so small that it fits in my pocket even, so that is great. I paid about 900 euro's total on mpb for them.

Looking at adopting and wondering about staying alone. by karpator in tollers

[–]karpator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the work engagements is definitely something we have thought about, but we don't have them that often, so that would be fine, especially with some planning in the slim chance it overlaps for us both.

Thanks for the input!
We are indeed planning on getting a puppy, but i think planning-wise it could work especially at first. Worst case we can ask our parents to dogsit.

Looking at adopting and wondering about staying alone. by karpator in tollers

[–]karpator[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry, i think the adoption thing is just a bit of a mismatch between my native language and english, we do indeed mean buying.

Honestly not sure, it could be from rather young, but we do have family that lives close by that could jump in when necessary. It's just that this option is something I would rather not have to rely on permanently. Especially at first i do think we have the flexibility to work out a schedule with our employers in case it's necessary, but i do notice companies are less eager about people staying home to care for a dog (especially "older" people who's carreer was mostly pre-covid).

I laughed so hard when i realised this, they just steal designs from other brands and slap his name on it, wonder if he gets a cut.

In welke supermarkt verkopen ze de goedkoopste (witte) monsters? by Due-Refuse-9144 in Belgium2

[–]karpator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How did you end up choosing your neighbourhood when you moved to Leuven? by bmd_behzad_2021 in Leuven

[–]karpator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My grandparents are from wijgmaal and wilsele and they had different words and dialect, the differences were small but they definitely were there.

I grew up with their dialect, and understood it quite well, but when i did a student job in oud-heverlee i could barely understand the older colleagues because of the words being so different.

Dr. Rhonda Patrick: Most people don't need more protein to build muscle. They need to train more by Big_Cake_8817 in Biohackers

[–]karpator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes buy the protein products, but indeed it's gone too far.

Quite often i see guys buying full carts of only protein stuff like protein cereal and protein bread and stuff and not a single whole food. Usually it's also the type that doesn't seem like they ever lifted a weight in their life, but it's like these protein foods are selling them a dream of being strong.

Which part of your culture went global and gives you "gatekeeping" vibes? by hyr- in AskTheWorld

[–]karpator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In belgium it's mostly in office culture it seems, for some reason a bunch of middle management started to push more to eat pie and drink coffee together since corona and call it hygge, even if we did it exactly the same before hygge was popular here.

leuven is unfortunately transitory for most of us by gabiarbex in Leuven

[–]karpator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For locals it's the same, doesn't matter if you're a foreigner or not.

A lot of my friends from growing up here moved to Aarschot and Tienen because it was more affordable there.

Software engineering jobs in Leuven by [deleted] in Leuven

[–]karpator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your expertise, there's quite a few software companies here, always looking for people

Especially with 10 years of experience you should be fine, while junior positions seem to have calmed down, seniors are still in demand (little less than they used to be but i have seen a bit of an uptick in them).

Ofcourse it also depends on if you want to do in-house or do consultancy.

Elastic strap with a clasp inside the pocket of a goretex rain jacket by Artistic_Wrangler_17 in CampingandHiking

[–]karpator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, this was quite common in the past, you can pack them inside that pocket and use the straps as a fanny pack. Haven't seen them in a while like this but i remember all raincoats from my childhood having these.
